Abstract:
The present invention aims to effectively utilize a memory by changing a recording system for received images in accordance with a remaining amount of the memory. When images received by a facsimile are printed, in accordance with the memory remaining amount, images are read out from storing means and are recorded by recording means in such a manner that, after a predetermined number of one sides of recording media are successively recorded, the recording medium is directed into a recording medium reverse-rotating mechanism, and one side of another recording medium until the recording medium is picked up from the reverse-rotating mechanism and is recorded so as to record the other side of the recording medium. Further, in accordance with the memory remaining amount, front and back sides of the recording medium can be read out and recorded alternately, or only one sides of the recording media can be recorded.
Abstract:
A method and system for monitoring, controlling and diagnosing operation of a machine such as a business office machine including a facsimile machine, a copier, and a printer. When the speed of communication between the remote device and machine is not urgent, a connectionless mode of communication may be used. The form of connectionless communication is an electronic mail message transmitted over the Internet. However, when a condition needs urgent action, a direct connection is used for communication such as communication via a telephone or ISDN line. The information obtained from the machine is stored in one or more data bases within a company and information of the machine is shared between a service department, engineering and design department, manufacturing department, and marketing department. As communication over the Internet via electronic mail is not secure, the connectionless-mode messages transmitted using Internet electronic mail are encrypted.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is to prevent a communication error, which may occur as a JM signal or a CM signal is kept transmitted, thereby ensuring transmission and reception of desired data. When a communication apparatus, which has transmitted the JM signal, does not receive a CJ signal when a JM signal transmission time t3 elapses, the communication apparatus interrupts transmission of the JM signal and transmits a DIS with bit 6 set, and receives a CI, CJ, DCS or NSS to execute the protocol of Recommendation V.34 or T.30. When the communication apparatus, which has transmitted the CM signal, does not receive the JM signal when a CM signal transmission time t4 elapses, the communication apparatus interrupts transmission of the CM signal and transmits the CI signal, and receives an ANSam signal or a signal of a V.21 channel 2 to execute the protocol of Recommendation V.34 or T.30. When detecting the signal of the V.21 channel 2 within the CM signal transmission time t4, the communication apparatus interrupts transmission of the CM signal and receives the signal of the V.21 channel 2 to perform the protocol of Recommendation T.30.
Abstract:
An image input system prevents excessive load from being placed on a network when using an image input device via the network. When an application, such as an optical character recognition (OCR) application, running on a client computer is to utilize an image scanned by a scanner connected over the network, and when the application has designated a batch transfer mode as an image transfer mode, modules of the client computer virtually acquire the scanned image in the batch transfer mode and transfer the image to the application.
Abstract:
To prevent the reduction of an S/N ratio of an image signal in the ITU-T Recommendation V.34 half-duplex communication, signal level designation information included in a line probing signal is disregarded or "no signal level attenuation" information is informed to a partner station when the half-duplex communication is conducted.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus fully effectively utilizes a specific communication function in accordance with a transmission speed. A communication circuit controls the determination of a communication mode to determine a communication mode with a destination station and controls a reception operation and a transmission operation. The control of the determination of the communication mode includes a first control, a second control, a third control and a fourth control. In the first control, a communication mode with the destination station is determined based on registered information in a transmission speed dependent ECM registration circuit.
Abstract:
An image transmission apparatus includes a color codec section for performing color image coding of a color image, a run-length codec section for performing run-length coding of a monochrome image, and a switching unit for arbitrarily switching the codec sections and to perform coding in units of pages in one communication cycle depending on whether each page is a color image or a monochrome image. Whether each page is constituted by a color image or a monochrome image is set in advance, and corresponding information is stored in a memory. Coding is performed by a coding scheme set for each page, and the coded data is transmitted. Alternatively, coded data obtained by both the codec sections and are stored in a hard disk, and the data coded by a coding scheme which an apparatus at the other end of a communication line can handle is read out and transmitted.
Abstract:
A wireless communication apparatus includes a first wireless communication unit that performs a first wireless communication, a second wireless communication unit that performs a second wireless communication that consumes less electric power than the first wireless communication, a power supply circuit that supplies electric power to the first and second wireless communication unit by receiving electric power supply from a battery or an external power supply, a state detection unit that detects whether the power supply circuit is in a first state for receiving the electric power supply from the external power supply or in a second state for receiving the electric power supply from the battery, and a first control unit. The first control unit determines which one of the first and second wireless communications to adopt as a wireless communication that is to be used for communication, based on detection result by the state detection unit.
Abstract:
Communication-identifier-assigned image data is transmitted via a set channel using the same as a communication identifier set for each image transmitter and a channel set in transmission. Then, a receiver which has received a plurality of image data items stores the received image data items, communication identifiers, and channels in such a manner that the received image data items are related to the communication identifiers and channels. Thumbnailed images in each image data item are displayed on one screen. When an image is selected from the thumbnailed images, an image transmitter that has transmitted the image is determined on the basis of the communication identifier and channel related to the selected image and is connected exclusively to the receiver. Images acquired from this time on are enlarged and displayed chronologically on a display section. The image transmitter and receiver constitute a wireless communication system.
