Abstract: A sheet-shaped member is provided and includes a porous carbon material including a material obtained from carbonization of a raw material including rice husk, the raw material having a silicon content of at least 5 wt %, the raw material is heat treated before carbonization, and the raw material is treated by an alkali treatment after carbonization to reduce the silicon content, the porous carbon material having a specific surface area of at least 10 m2/g as measured by the nitrogen BET method, a pore volume of at least 0.1 cm3/g as measured by the BJH method and MP method, and an R value of 1.5 or greater, wherein the porous carbon material includes mesopores, macropores and micropores, the R value is expressed as R=B/A, the A referring to an intensity at an intersection between the baseline of a diffraction peak of the (002) plane as obtained based on powdery X-ray diffractometry of the porous carbon material and a perpendicular line downwardly drawn from the diffraction peak of the (002) plane, and the B referring to the intensity of the diffraction peak of the (002) plane.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a zirconium-based metal organic framework comprising at least a tetravalent zirconium ion (Zr4+) and a bidentate or tridentate linking ligand bonding the said tetravalent zirconium ion (Zr4+). Moreover, the present invention also relates to a method for preparing the zirconium-based metal organic framework comprising the steps of: (a) preparing a reaction mixture comprising a zirconium compound, a linking ligand and, optionally, a modulating agent in a solvent; (b) heating the reaction mixture obtained from step (a); and (c) washing a reaction product obtained from step (b) with the solvent and drying the reaction product. The zirconium-based metal organic framework according to the present invention is suitable for using in a process for removing heavy metals in the condensate, especially using in the adsorption, removal, or reduction of arsenic and mercury contents in the condensate.

The sorbent material sheets collect vapors such as hydrocarbon vapors from engine components such as the combustion chamber, injectors, carburetor, fuel ports, crankcase, or other engine components, thereby reducing evaporative emissions. In certain configurations, the sorbent material sheet product includes an edge seal that improves the handling of the sorbent material sheets during the manufacturing process.
