Abstract:
A system for controlling temperature buildup in an IC employs a temperature sensor to provide an indication of the IC temperature to a control circuit which is configured to provide an operational clock rate to the IC which is less than the system clock rate, based on a function of the temperature of the IC or its package. In one embodiment temperature sensors are implemented as solid-state circuitry within different functional areas of a single IC, such as a microprocessor, In other embodiments, operating voltage is lowered as operating frequency is lowered. In yet another embodiment temperature sensing of multiple processors in a system is provided to a controller or controllers which are configured to allocate workload between the processors as a means to limit temperature rise, as well as to lower operational clock rate and to lower operating voltage.
Abstract:
A hand-held housing contains an image sensor, a processor, a memory, a visual display and input control buttons for recording, storing, displaying and retrieving images from a document, such as a business card. The image sensor generates electrical data signals representative of the image on a document as the housing is moved across the document in a scanning embodiment or the images on a document disposed beneath the housing in a single record embodiment, which signals are stored in the memory by the processor and concurrently displayed on the display. The input control buttons, through the control program executed by the processor, provide for scanning, storage and retrieval of images from memory for display. The processor stores the images in a linked list or lists in the memory and is capable of rearranging, adding or deleting any image associated with a particular document in any list in the memory.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for generating image information. A specific embodiment of the method includes: acquiring a rotation angle and a scaling of a target image relative to a reference image, and acquiring an intrinsic parameter of a video camera collecting the reference image; generating a projective transformation matrix based on the rotation angle, the scaling and the intrinsic parameter; generating a coordinate offset of the each neighborhood pixel of the feature point in the reference image; generating, based on a coordinate of the feature point in the reference image, the coordinate offset of the each neighborhood pixel of the feature point in the reference image and the projective transformation matrix, coordinates of the each neighborhood pixel of the feature point in the reference image; and generating a feature point descriptor of the feature point.
Abstract:
A system and method for network policy enforcement for portable data devices such as smartphones, tablets or notebook computers uses the portable device to self-enforce prescribed policies. A beacon generator generates a wireless security beacon in accordance with an output of the beacon generator and a wireless data interface receives an access request from a portable data device. Digital security policy data configured to enable a preselected set of functions on the portable data device is stored in the data storage. The processor communicates the policy data to the portable data device in accordance with a received access request via the wireless data interface.
Abstract:
Wireless devices that establish a wireless connection with a mobile information apparatus (e.g., smart phone) by wirelessly detecting, within physical proximity, the mobile information apparatus are herein disclosed and enabled. For example, to set up the wireless device (e.g., audio output devices, television controllers, Internet appliances) for connecting with a smart phone, simply place the device and phone within a physical distance for the device and phone to wirelessly discover each other. During wireless detection, the smart phone and the wireless device may exchange, transmit, or receive device information for storing in memory to facilitate future wireless connections. Subsequent to wireless detection and storing of the device information, the device and the smart phone may be locked or paired for wireless connection (e.g., Bluetooth connection) such that future wireless connections between the device and the phone can be established without having to repeat the wireless detection.
Abstract:
A method for an electronic device configured to control a display device by using a watermark is provided. The method includes receiving a captured image of the display device from a remote control device, extracting a watermark from the captured image, acquiring a menu for the display device based on the watermark, and transmitting the menu to the remote control device for controlling the display device.
Abstract:
Wireless synchronization of data or software components over a wireless local area network (WLAN) compatible, at least partly, with IEEE802.11, are herein disclosed and enabled. An information apparatus, such as a laptop, a smart phone, an information pad, or digital camera, may access a WLAN for wireless synchronization with other wireless devices. To set up the wireless synchronization, the user connects the information apparatus to a wireless device over a wired connection (e.g., USB) and selects the wireless device for synchronization. Information associated with the wireless device is saved in the information apparatus. Next, the user connects the information apparatus to the WLAN and, depending on the availability of the wireless device in the WLAN, the information apparatus may lock a wireless connection to the wireless device for wireless synchronization. Operations of the wireless synchronization over the WLAN may be facilitated by a client application in the information apparatus.
Abstract:
A multi-function printer main body has a copy function. A remote terminal conducts various kinds of copy settings or instructions to start copy. An execution button is provided in the multi-function printer main body. When the execution button is operated in normal time, copy is executed with the default settings. When copy is executed by inputting copy settings on the remote terminal side, copy can be executed again with the copy settings used for the last time by operating the execution button until a predetermined period of time passes. Therefore, in a case of executing copy with the default settings or repeatedly executing copy with the same settings as the settings used for the last time, a user's work burden can be reduced because it is sufficient for the user to operate the execution button 38.
Abstract:
A method of distributing digital images includes capturing a first digital image using the first digital camera and converting, using the first digital camera, the first digital image into lossless code. The lossless code is displayed on the display of the first digital camera and is captured using a second digital camera. The lossless code captured from the display of the first digital camera is converted, using the second digital camera, into a copy of the first digital image, and the copy of the first digital image converted from the lossless code is displayed on the display screen of the second digital camera.
