Abstract:
A hand, wrist and arm exercise and therapy device includes a finger push bar pivotally connected to a base and a wrist support with massagers for massaging the wrist during movement of the push bar. The push bar is moveable between a neutral position, an extended position and a locked stretching position. The massagers may be moved by movement of the push bar to better massage the wrist.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a reusable pain relieving treatment device, such as a belt, that comprises one or more conductive members that extend from an inner surface of the device and are capable of transferring heat, cold or vibrations from disposable or reusable packs.
Abstract:
Described is an exercise tool. More particularly, it is a therapy and exercise tool specifically devised as a hand and finger-therapy device to align, separate, and stretch the user's fingers and hands. The device includes a finger separator that is sized and shaped to be positioned between a user's adjacent fingers to manipulate and/or separate the fingers, thereby providing hand and finger-therapy.
Abstract:
A hand massager has a base comprising a plurality of movable massage knobs and a swivel connection, wherein the base is shaped to receive a user's hand. The hand massager also has a top connected to the swivel connection. The top is sized to fit over a user's hand to define a cavity between the top and the base. Electronic user controls controlling the motion of movable massage knobs. The top may further include a vibrating element for massaging the top of a user's hand. The top can also have a heat element. The base has a heat element. The massage knobs, vibrating elements and heat elements interact with each other to make a hand massager that is desktop friendly and can be used in a home environment.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to a device for applying a pulsating pressure to a local region of the body and applications thereof. The device may be used to increase the blood flow in a local region of the body, and in preferred embodiments provides a device for regulating the core body temperature of a patient.
Abstract:
A massage device for providing cold or hot massage therapy including a liquid reservoir and a rotatable ball positioned in an open end of the reservoir. The reservoir is at least partially filled with a liquid that is heated or cooled. The liquid in the massage device is heated or cooled. The rotatable ball is heated or cooled through heat transfer between the liquid and the rotatable ball. Massage therapy can be provided using both the reservoir portion and/or the rotatable ball of the massage device.
Abstract:
Devices, methods, and software implementing those methods for providing communicating external chest compression (ECC) devices and defibrillation (DF) devices, where the ECC and DF devices can be physically separate from each other. Both ECC and DF devices are able to operate autonomously, yet able to communicate with and cooperate with another device when present. Some ECC and DF devices are adapted to be physically and/or electrically coupled to each other. One ECC device includes a backboard, a chest compression member, a communication module, controller, and at least one sensor, electrode lead or electrode. One DF device includes a defibrillator module, a controller, and a communication module that can communicate with the ECC communication module. The communicating ECC and DF devices may deliver ECC, pacing, defibrillation, ventilation, and cooling therapies, and may deliver instructions to human assistants, in a coordinated and cooperative fashion.
Abstract:
A low-frequency lung vibration apparatus is designed to vibrate lungs clogged by sputum, using acoustic waves. The freed sputum becomes easier to be removed by expectoration. The apparatus includes a garment composed of layers, a plurality of electro-mechanical or dynamic vibrators and a controlling unit. An inner layer contains a loading and shape conforming material, while an outer shell holds the vibrators, the controller and the inner garment together. An outer shell is made of a non-stretch material. Several fasteners/zippers hold the inner garment in place and several strategically placed straps allow a tight fit of the garment. The loading created by the layers of the apparatus is tailored to cause the existence of a uniform compression-expansion resonance of the lungs beneficial for sputum removal. A controlling unit allows the detection of a person's lungs resonance frequency and controls the vibrator(s) frequency and amplitude during a treatment.
Abstract:
A bathtub system is disclosed. The first bathtub has a plurality of side portions. The plurality of side portions of the first bathtub having a plurality of openings. A second bathtub is disposed underneath the first bathtub wherein the second bathtub overlaps the plurality of side portions of the first bathtub, where an opening space is defined between the second bathtub and the first bathtub. The plurality of side portions are configured to receive a plurality of liquids. The opening space between the second bathtub and the first bathtub includes a heating device. The heating device is configured to heat the plurality of liquids to transform the plurality of liquids into a gas. The gas is released through the plurality of openings in the plurality of side portions.
Abstract:
A therapeutic system for massage comprises a massage device having an activation cell comprising a hollow pocket at least partially filled with a ferro-magnetic fluid, a permanent magnet suspended in the ferro-magnetic fluid, a coil of electrically-conductive material in proximity to the pocket, and a connection interface to connect the coil to a source of varying voltage and current, and a power source of varying voltage for connecting to the connection interface to drive the activation cell.
