Abstract:
A method of managing IT sources among a first computer system and at least one computer service system comprises obtaining a resource utilization trend of the first computer system based on a history of utilization of an IT resource in the first computer system; obtaining a data sending throughput rate from the first computer system to each of the at least one computer service system; and, based on the resource utilization trend and the data sending throughput rate, selecting a target computer service system to migrate a workload from the first computer system, determining a start time to start a precede data copy associated with the workload to be migrated, prior to switching over processing of the workload at a switching time, and starting the precede data copy from the first computer system to the target computer service system at the start time.
Abstract:
An apparatus for analyzing system identifies plural combinations of downlink packet and uplink packet immediately following the downlink packet under predetermined condition, the uplink packet having a predetermined threshold value or more difference time from the received time of the downlink packet to the received time of the uplink packet. And the apparatus calculates chunk processing time by using a difference between the received time of the identified uplink packet and the received time of the identified downlink packet, which are between the time when the packet of a specific processing request to the lower-level server is received and the time when the packet of the response corresponding to the specific processing request is received, and calculates the total sum of the chunk processing times.
Abstract:
An administration system for use within a server system is provided. The server system having a server that provides host management functions and the server system being able to accept computer cards inserted therein. The administration system comprises a computing system that is inserted in the server system, the computing system having a controller that assumes control over the communications bus.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method comprises executing a plurality of virtual machines on a plurality of nodes of a cluster computing system, wherein at least one application is executed within each of the plurality of virtual machines, generating data that is related to performance of applications in the virtual machines, analyzing, by a management process, the data in view of parameters that encode desired performance levels of applications, and migrating, by the management process, a virtual machine on a first node to a second node of the plurality of nodes in response to the analyzing.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are described that analyze complex systems and identify potential performance bottlenecks that may affect capacity and response time. The bottlenecks are identified to resolve problems originating at a specific subsystem(s).
Abstract:
One embodiment is a method that determines application performance signatures occurring at an application server in a multi-tier architecture. The method then analyzes the application performance signatures to determine whether a change in transaction performance at the application server results from a modification to an application.
Abstract:
A system analysis apparatus includes a message reconstruction module which reconstructs observed data and data of which the observation has failed, into messages regarding a request and a response which are communicated on a system. The apparatus includes a message candidate extraction module which compares message rules with the reconstructed messages, and extracts messages in the message rules which are identical to the reconstructed messages, from the messages defined in the message rules, as message candidates. The apparatus includes a call relationship extraction module which extracts a call relationship between the message candidates. The apparatus includes a matching module which compares transaction models in which processes in units of transactions on the system have been modeled on the basis of call relationships among the processes on the system, with the extracted call relationship, and selects and determines a transaction model identical to the call relationship.
Abstract:
Transactions are replicated from a source database to a target database in a data replication system. The system includes a first memory location that persistently stores statement text associated with transactions to be replicated. Transactions to be replicated are cached by separating the transactions into statement text and statement data. A determination is made as to whether the statement text has been previously stored in the first memory location. If not, then the statement text is persistently stored to the first memory location. A similar scheme is provided for replicating I/O operations.
Abstract:
A method to detect potential problems within a heterogeneous and diverse application environment. Operations data is received from a plurality of application servers within the application environment. The operations data pertains to operations performed at the plurality of application servers over a predetermined time interval. The operations data is aggregated. The aggregated data is compared to reference data, and a potential problem within the application environment is detected if the aggregated data deviates from the reference data in a predetermined manner.
