A distance between the upper and lower openings ranges from 300 millimeters to 3000 millimeters.
Abstract:
A water purification and storage system comprises a water storage container, a covering plate and an impermeable wall. The water storage container is formed by a plurality of tangentially connected polygonal water-filtering wells having well walls of a water-permeable structure, and an impermeable layer is arranged at the bottom of the well. At least one water-filtering well is a water output well. The covering plate is arranged at the upper portion of the water storage container, and comprises an impermeable covering plate arranged at the upper portion of the water output well and a water-permeable covering plates arranged at the upper portions of the remaining water-filtering wells. The impermeable wall is arranged around the water storage container. The system is suitable for the collection and purification of rain water. Also disclosed are a water-filtering well for use in the system, and a polygonal building block for the water-filtering well.

Abstract:
A method for fabricating a porous carbon material possessing a hierarchical porosity, the method comprising subjecting a precursor composition to a curing step followed by a carbonization step, the precursor composition comprising: (i) a templating component comprised of a block copolymer, (ii) a phenolic component, (iii) a dione component in which carbonyl groups are adjacent, and (iv) an acidic component, wherein said carbonization step comprises heating the precursor composition at a carbonizing temperature for sufficient time to convert the precursor composition to a carbon material possessing a hierarchical porosity comprised of mesopores and macropores. Also described are the resulting hierarchical porous carbon material, a capacitive deionization device in which the porous carbon material is incorporated, as well as methods for desalinating water by use of said capacitive deionization device.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for point of use location treatment of potable water supplies on demand on board passenger vehicles, such as aircraft. The systems described generally provide increased safety features, alternate ultraviolet light sources, and reduced power consumption.
Abstract:
A pumping apparatus for pumping a liquid from a source to a target including a motor and pump driven by the motor. Sacrificial zinc components are utilized to minimize corrosion due to chlorine vapors. Measures to ensure that liquid is pumped in only one direction include the use of a full wave rectifier and/or a spacer incorporated with a swivel platform to limits the range of the angle between the motor shaft and the pump piston. To minimize the risk of rupturing the pump, the pump piston includes a relieved portion in fluid communication with a transverse bore of the pump housing when the piston is axially inserted within the pump housing in its full forward position. To prevent overheating and damage to the pump components, the pumping apparatus makes use of a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) resistor interposed between the motor and a current source.
Abstract:
Electrolytic equipment in the form of radiation mode that is provided with pluralities of baffles (13) in the form of radiation mode on the top surface of the seat (10) and acidic water passage (131) is formed between the baffles (13). The top surface of the seat (10) has through holes (14) used to make anode conduction portions (33) of anode plate (30) through. In the center of the seat (10), there is a socket joint portion (11) that is provided with an inlet and outlet interval tube (15) in the center of it. There are plurality of equidistributed baffles (151, 157) on the inside wall and the outside wall of the inlet and outlet interval tube (15) to form raw water inlet passage (152) and acidic water outlet passage (153). There are protuberant ribs (16) for separating water inside of the seat (10) corresponding to the location for separating water around the anode plate (30) and the cathode plate (40), which are used to separate alkaline water and acidic water electrolyzed from the anode plate (30) and the cathode plate (40). Alkaline water passage (631) is formed on the bottom surface of the lid (60) and the center of lid (60) is provided with alkaline water outlet joint (61).
Abstract:
An advanced on-site water sanitization system is taught having integrated chlorine generation and copper/silver ionization in the same unit. The system includes a manifold loop connectable to a water supply line for supplying water to be sanitized from a body of water, and connectable to a water return line for returning sanitized water to the body of water. It also includes a copper/silver ionizer, capable of receiving a flow of water to be sanitized, adding copper and silver ions to the flow of water so as to provide a copper/silver ionized flow of water. A chlorinator is also included, capable of receiving a flow of ionized water, and a flow of chlorine, and allowing the flow of chlorine to mix with the flow of ionized water so as to provide a chlorinated flow of ionized water to the manifold loop to return as sanitized water to the body of water.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a water tank and to a filter cartridge connection element which can be connected to said water tank, and also to fixing means for fixing said filter cartridge connection element to the tank. In this case, the fixing means are distinguished in that they are formed such that the filter cartridge connection element can no longer be detached from the tank without being destroyed.
