Abstract: Methods, systems and devices for wireless communication are described. One example method includes determining, using resources in a wireless network, a schedule of transmissions between the wireless network and one or more user devices, and controlling the transmissions according to the schedule. The resources are distributed between a central unit (CU) and a distributed unit (DU) according to a resource partitioning scheme. The DU is configured to handle a first set of protocol layers of a communication protocol stack implemented in the wireless network according to a layer partitioning scheme and the CU is configured to handle a second set of protocol layers of the communication protocol stack according to the layer partitioning scheme. The first set of protocol layers excludes an upper medium access control (MAC) layer. The second set of protocol layers excludes a physical layer.

In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a second UE, an initial transmission of a transport block via a sidelink unlicensed band. Abstract: A base station transmits one or more configuration parameters indicating a single frequency network (SFN) scheme. The base station transmits, via control resource sets (coresets) configured for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) repetition, repetitions of downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The base station transmits the PDSCH based on transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states of the coresets. The PDSCH transmission is in response to: the one or more configuration parameters indicating the SFN scheme; the DCI not comprising a TCI field; and a time offset between the DCI and the PDSCH being equal to or greater than a threshold.

Abstract: Message faults are inevitable in the high-throughput environment of 5G and planned 6G. Retransmissions are costly in time and resources, while generating extra backgrounds and interference. Therefore, methods are disclosed for recovering a faulted message by identifying and correcting each mis-demodulated message element. The faulted message elements generally have substantially lower modulation quality than the correctly demodulated elements, and can be identified by determining the modulation quality of each received message element. If the number of faulted message elements is small, the receiver may correct them using a grid search tested by an associated error-detection code. If the number of faults exceeds a predetermined threshold, the receiver can request a retransmission, and then assemble a merged copy of the message by selecting the message element with the best modulation quality from each version. Substantial time and resources may be saved, and reliable communication may be restored despite poor reception.
