    Abstract: A radio communication system transmits data between terrestrial sites using one or more stochastically distributed orbiting satellites. The satellites and ground stations have the capability of sending and receiving data content in different radio technologies (signal formats) and over different satellite routes. Data content is assembled into packets and divided into segments and transmitted multiple times in different signal formats and/or over different routes, with each segment including error correction coding. A system node (satellite or ground station) that receives the multiple data packets applies error correction to each segment and re-assembles the data content from the separate segments in each transmission deemed to have the fewest errors.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving the reliability of a digital communications system is provided. In accordance with at least one embodiment, power of a transmitted signal is controlled to improve reliability. In accordance with at least one embodiment, timing of a transmitted signal is controlled to improve reliability. In accordance with at least one embodiment, interference is detected. In accordance with at least one embodiment, interference is localized. In accordance with at least one embodiment, combinatorial processing is used to increase reliability.     Abstract: Disclosed herein are high performance systems with low latency error correction as well as related devices and methods. In some embodiments, high performance systems may include: central processing units, adapter chips, and switch chips connected via channels, each chip including link level forward error correction and link level replay, where errors at or below a threshold level are corrected by forward error correction and remaining errors are corrected using replay. In some embodiments, high performance systems may include: central processing units, adapter chips, and switch chips connected via channels, each chip including link level forward error correction, link level replay, and a multiplexer for determining which error correction technique to use based on the number of errors and an error threshold level.
