Abstract:
The present invention is a body-shape correction apparatus comprising: a left foot-associated rotation unit on which the left foot of a user is loaded and supported, and which rotates in the counter-clockwise direction and returns in the clockwise direction; a right foot-associated rotation unit on which the right foot of the user is loaded and supported, and which rotates in the clockwise direction and returns in the counter-clockwise direction; and a pair of spring units and a pair of deformation distribution units arranged to correspond to the pair of left and right foot-associated rotation units. Hand-associated rotation units are also provided along with left and right elastic units that apply restoring forces to resist displacement of the left right hand-associated rotation units.
Abstract:
A clamping-style neck-back-waist-leg massager includes: a frame flanked by two handles; a central shaft pivotally connected to a rotational center of a torsional spring; a right clamper having leftward a pivot ear hole pivotally connected to the central shaft and abutted against a first free end of the torsional spring and having rightward a free end bending away from the corresponding handle; a left clamper having rightward a pivot ear hole pivotally connected to the central shaft and abutted against a second free end of the torsional spring and having leftward a free end bending away from the corresponding handle. The free ends of the right and left clampers approach each other to effectuate clamping. The right and left clampers have therein first and second massaging sets extending outward to form first and second massaging units, respectively, for performing fixed-point or transverse massage on the neck, back, waist, and legs.
Abstract:
A wearable apparatus for the treatment or prevention of osteopenia or osteoporosis, stimulating bone growth, preserving or improving bone mineral density, and inhibiting adipogenesis is disclosed where the apparatus may generally comprise one or more vibrating elements configured for imparting repeated mechanical loads to the hip, femur, and/or spine of an individual at a frequency and acceleration sufficient for therapeutic effect. These vibrating elements may be secured to the upper body of an individual via one or more respective securing mechanisms, where the securing mechanisms are configured to position the one or more vibrating elements in a direction lateral to the individual, and the position, tension, and efficacy of these vibrating elements may be monitored and/or regulated by one or more accelerometers.
Abstract:
The subject matter of the invention relates to therapy wraps for the application of compression and/or thermal therapy to a patient. The wraps are formed of at least two layers of material which are sealed together to form at least one cavity between them. The wraps may be used in conjunction with a therapy machine which fills the cavity or cavities of the wraps with fluid such as a gas and/or a liquid. The unique shapes of the wraps are particularly suitable for providing therapy to the human body. The shapes permit the manipulation of the wraps around various portions of the human body such as the shoulder, back and foot.
Abstract:
A foot health orthosis to be fitted with a toe includes a flexible ring-like retainer which can be fitted with the toe, and a cushion portion formed on a part of the retainer, which is thicker than the retainer and allowed to be held on a reverse surface of the toe in the fitted state.
Abstract:
A DVT and temperature therapy system. A temperature therapy blanket includes a fluid bladder for delivering hot and/or cold therapy to a patient. The temperature therapy blanket may also include an air bladder for providing compression. The DVT system functions independently of the temperature therapy. This Abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an Abstract that allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain subject matter of the technical disclosure. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).
Abstract:
A stretching device comprises a shoulder or body harness with an adjustable central hold arranged around the upper body connected with an adjustable extension strap configured to engage a foot at a distal end. The extension strap is slidably connected to the central strap to move along the length of the central strap. The wearable device and method of using the device provides a comfortable tension and facilitates hands free stretching in the supine position, for improving duration of the stretching and range of motion. The device straps may be quickly disassembled with a strap independently used, or in a combination rearranged for connection by interlocking the central strap with either a shoulder strap or the extension strap, for upper body and shoulder stretching.
Abstract:
A flexibility and fitness increasing apparatus allows the user to stretch various muscles as if they are assisted by a partner. The flexibility and fitness increasing apparatus includes at least one foot support, at least one fastening strap, and an anchor. The anchor is opposite the at least one foot support along the at least one fastening strap. The anchor is fixed to a support during the implementation of the flexibility and fitness increasing apparatus such that the user can stretch effectively, unaided, and in a controlled fashion. The at least one fastening strap is adjustably connected to the at least one foot support through a securing buckle of the at least one foot support such that the length between the anchor and the at least on foot support is variable. The user increases the tension on the at least one fastening strap to effectively stretch their muscles.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a walk-assistive apparatus and a method of controlling the walk-assistive apparatus. The walk-assistive apparatus includes at least one joint that corresponds to at least one joint of a wearer, at least one link that connects the joint, and is rotated in response to rotation of the joint, a spring that is mounted in the link or the joint so that a length of the spring is changed in accordance with rotation of the link or the joint, and a processor that controls the change in the length of the spring to compensate for a weight by gravity when the wearer walks.Accordingly, the walk-assistive apparatus and the method of controlling the walk-assistive apparatus may use a mechanical element such as a spring to reduce energy, and weight compensation having uniform performance may be performed even in an arbitrary posture.
Abstract:
