Abstract: A variety of flexible body harnesses are provided to distribute loads comfortably and evenly across one or more segments of the human body. The trajectories of load-bearing straps of the provided body harnesses apply shear to underlying portions of skin of a body segment evenly across the length of the load-bearing straps. Such trajectories can approximate catenary curves as the straps encircle the body segment. The trajectories of such straps around a body segment are maintained by attaching the straps to an underlayer, by incorporating the straps into a flexible material, and/or by weaving further straps around the load-bearing straps to maintain their relative location and/or curvature. Such body harnesses can be provided as part of assistive, rehabilitative, prosthetic, or strength-enhancing systems configured to apply forces to the body via the body harnesses.

Abstract: A therapeutic device comprises an upper massage surface having a generally central spinous channel, a first domed portion on a first lateral side of the central spinous channel and a second domed portion on a second lateral side of the central spinous channel. The device has a lower base surface, a front edge, and a rear edge, with the upper massage surface extending between front edge and the rear edge. The device further has a first lateral edge on one side of the therapeutic device and a second lateral edge on an opposing side of the therapeutic device, such that the distance between the first and second lateral edges is greater than the distance between the front edge and the rear edge.

Abstract: A headache treatment assembly includes a clamping unit that has a pair of grips each is movably disposed in opposing sides of a clamping recess in the clamping unit. Each of the grips is urgeable toward each other to pinch a trapezius muscle at a strategic location to treat symptoms of a headache. A tube is coupled to and extends away from the clamping unit and the tube curves beneath the user's armpit when the clamping unit is positioned on the user's trapezius muscle. A knob is rotatably disposed on the tube and the knob is in mechanical communication with the clamping unit. The grips are urged toward each other when the knob is rotated in a first direction and the grips are urged away from each other when the knob is rotated in a second direction.

Abstract: A traction device has a frame, a first bladder portion, a second bladder portion, and a third inflatable bladder portion. The first bladder expands in an outward direction a distance greater than in a transverse direction. The second bladder expands in a first angular direction. The second bladder is positioned generally inferior to and to the side of the first bladder. The third bladder expands in a second angular direction. Upon expanding in the outward direction, the first bladder bears against the back of the user's neck. Upon expanding in the transverse direction, the first bladder applies an angular traction to the cervical spine. Upon expanding in the first angular direction, the second bladder bears angularly against the back of the user's upper thoracic region. Upon expanding in the third angular direction, the third bladder bears angularly against the user's occiput.
