    Abstract: A process plant and a method for producing a hydrocarbon mixture suitable for use as an aviation fuel having an end-boiling point according to ASTM D86 below 300° C. from a decarboxylation feedstock being a feedstock including fatty acid esters and/or triglycerides and including C18 side-chains, to a deoxygenated hydrocarbon mixture by directing the decarboxylation feedstock to contact a material catalytically active in decarboxylation under decarboxylation conditions where the ratio between deoxygenation by formation of carbon oxides and deoxygenation by formation of water is at least 1.5:1, 2:1 or 3:1, as measured by the ratio of C17 paraffins to C18 paraffins in the deoxygenated hydrocarbon mixture, with the associated benefit of such a decarboxylation based method selectively reducing the product carbon length by a single carbon atom, compared to a hydrodeoxygenation based method, which is beneficial for processes requiring a moderate reduction of end boiling point.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a a method for producing a synthesis gas for use in the production of a hydrocarbon product, particularly a synthetic fuel, said method comprising the steps of: providing a hydrocarbon feed stream comprising biogas; optionally, purifying the hydrocarbon feed stream in a gas purification unit; optionally, prereforming the hydrocarbon feed stream together with a steam feedstock in a prereforming unit; carrying out steam methane reforming in a reforming reactor heated by means of an electrical power source; providing the synthesis gas to a synthetic fuel synthesis unit, preferably a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit, for converting said synthesis gas into hydrocarbon product and producing a tail gas. The invention also relates to a system for producing a synthesis gas for use in the production of a hydrocarbon product, particularly a synthetic fuel.

A process for the preparation of a lithium positive electrode active material with high tap density for a high voltage secondary battery where the cathode is fully or partially operated above 4.4 V vs. Li/Li+, comprising the steps of a) heating a precursor in a reducing atmosphere at a temperature of from 300° C. to 1200° C. to obtain a lithium positive electrode active material intermediate; b) heating the product of step a. in a non-reducing atmosphere at a temperature of from 300° C. to 1200° C.
