Abstract:
An information processing system comprises a user terminal and an information processing device. A remote operation screen image for remotely operating the information processing device is displayed with the user terminal so that the information processing device is operated by remote control via the user terminal. The information processing device includes: a screen image controlling part for receiving operation information from the user terminal; a contents determining part for determining if contents accessed by a browser are internal contents of the information processing device when the operation information is a process request requiring start up of the browser; and a browser controlling part for starting up a first browser on the information processing device when the internal contents are to be accessed, and sending a browser start up instruction to cause start up of a second browser installed on the user terminal when external contents are to be accessed.
Abstract:
A power management method of an image forming apparatus which communicates with at least one terminal device supporting a universal plug and play (UPnP) protocol, including: setting power save mode information which includes a plurality of levels corresponding to the UPnP protocol to the image forming apparatus; storing the set power save mode information; receiving a command to enter a first power save mode among the plurality of levels from the terminal device; comparing the received command to enter the first power save mode with the stored power save mode information; and entering a power save mode by the image forming apparatus corresponding to the received command to enter the first power save mode. With this configuration, the image forming apparatus supporting a UPnP protocol categorizes power save modes by using a low power protocol of the UPnP protocol, and can reduce unnecessary power consumption and improves usability.
Abstract:
There is provided a communication apparatus. The holding unit holds communication setting information for communicating wirelessly with an external apparatus. The communication unit communicates wirelessly with the external apparatus using the communication setting information held by the holding unit. The connection unit connects a recording medium. The determination unit determines whether or not the recording medium connected to the connection unit has a communication function for communicating wirelessly with an apparatus, which is different from the communication apparatus, using communication setting information that has been written into a specific recording region of the recording medium. The writing unit writes the communication setting information held by the holding unit into the specific recording region of the recording medium in a case where it has been determined that the recording medium connected to the connection unit has the communication function.
Abstract:
According to one advantageous aspect of the present invention, even if communication becomes impossible during data transfer, an apparatus with a small-capacity memory is efficiently used. To realize this, in a wireless communication apparatus including a wireless communication unit, wireless communication with a communication device is performed according to a first wireless communication method and a second wireless communication method that has a communicable range wider than that in the first wireless communication method. Then, a request for executing predetermined processing and information for performing wireless communication according to the second wireless communication method with an output destination of data obtained by executing the predetermined processing is received. Upon receiving the request, the predetermined processing is executed. Based on the received information, the data obtained by executing the predetermined processing is outputted to the output destination.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus for achieving the exchange of pieces of image data between a plurality of image processing apparatuses includes: a feature value extraction unit for extracting a feature value included in image data; a feature value transfer unit for transferring to another image processing apparatus a feature value extracted from image data to be exchanged; a feature value reception unit for receiving a feature value transferred from the other image processing apparatus; a first determination unit for determining whether the received feature value matches a feature value included in image data of a captured image; an image data transfer unit for transferring the image data of the captured image to the other image processing apparatus when there is a match between the feature values; and an image data reception unit for receiving image data of a captured image transferred from the other image processing apparatus.
Abstract:
Methods and electronic devices for sharing a camera feature are described. In one aspect, the present disclosure describes a method. The method is performed by a first electronic device which has a camera. The method includes: establishing wireless communications between the first electronic device and a second electronic device using a short range communication module of the first electronic device; and entering a camera-feature-sharing mode in which a camera-related feature of the second electronic device is accessible to the first electronic device using the short range communication module and in which a camera-related feature of the first electronic device is accessible to the second electronic device using the short range communication module.
Abstract:
A system and method for synchronizing feeds for multiple digital picture frames. Pictures are received. Each of the pictures is associated with one or more feeds. One or more of a number of digital picture frames are designated to receive each of the one or more feeds. User preferences are received for delivering the one or more feeds. The one or more feeds are communicated to the one or more digital picture frames designated to receive the one or more feeds.
Abstract:
A communication device including an image capturing device having a RF-ID unit for performing proximity wireless communication with a RF-ID reader/writer connected via an infrared communication path to a TV. The image capturing device includes: an antenna for the proximity wireless communication; a data receiving unit receiving an input signal from the RF-ID reader/writer; a nonvolatile second memory storing at least UID and an execution program; and a data transmission unit transmitting the UID and the execution program to the RF-ID reader/writer via the antenna according to the input signal. The UID is used to identify the communication device, and the execution program is executed by the TV with reference to the UID. The transmitted UID and execution program are transferred to the TV via the RF-ID reader/writer.
Abstract:
In a digital camera having a wireless communicator with a server, a storage controller treats full size image data and display size image data unequally if the full size image data has been already sent to the server. For example, the display size image data is not allowed to be replaced by new digital image data unless the digital camera is not in use over a prescribed time. Own image data and other's image data are treated equally. Image data received from outside and retrieved from inside memory are treated equally. Search key for own image data and related search keys existing in the outside are indicated in a comparable manner. The digital camera receives search key from neighboring advertiser to send it for Internet search of advertisement. Search key received from neighboring notable site is sent for Internet search of photographs of the notable site taken by others.
Abstract:
A device, system and method for portable data scanning and transmission are provided. The device is a portable appliance including resources for interoperating with a scanner to scan images of paper based documents, and a memory for storing the images without the need for a personal computer. The portable appliance is also interoperable with a mobile communication means to transfer the images to a remote computer. The portable appliance may include a computer program operable to enable processing of the images, including control routines for enabling data collection, storage and transfer to the remote computer. The invention can be implemented as an in-cab scanning system operable with existing in-cab communication systems.
