Abstract:
Provided are a conductive paint composition and a method for manufacturing a conductive film using the same. The conductive paint composition of the present invention includes: a dispersant made of a block copolymer consisting of a hydrophilic polymer unit and a hydrophobic polymer unit; a conductive material made of a surface-modified carbon compound; a polymer binder: and a medium containing water, an organic solvent, or a mixture thereof. The conductive paint composition is coated and cured on the substrate to form the conductive film, thereby controlling a surface structure of the substrate, and thus, imparting uniform antistatic function, electrostatic dissipation (ESD), conductivity, electromagnetic interference shield function to the substrate.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a continuous extrusion process for preparing cold water swelling phosphate-cross-linked starch derivatives, wherein the process consists of the subsequent steps of gelatinising an alkaline starch in a first zone (10) in the extruder; adding of POCl3 as cross-linking reagent in a second zone (11) in the extruder; cross-linking the obtained gelatinised starch by means of the POCl3 in the second and third zone (11, 12) in the extruder, and neutralising the obtained cross-linked gelatinised starch that is present in a fourth zone (13) in the extruder; recovering the obtained cross-linked, gelatinised starch in a fifth zone (14) in the extruder.
Abstract:
Lignocellulose based composite products made with modified aldehyde based binder compositions are provided. The lignocellulose based composite product can include a plurality of lignocellulose substrates and an at least partially cured binder composition. The binder composition can include, prior to curing, an aldehyde based resin and a copolymer. The copolymer can include one or more vinyl aromatic derived units and one or more unsaturated carboxylic acids, one or more unsaturated carboxylic anhydrides, or a combination of one or more unsaturated carboxylic acids and one or more unsaturated carboxylic anhydrides.
Abstract:
The present invention provides aqueous self-inspecting wet coatings or films that dry to form translucent to clear weather-resistive barriers on a substrate, preferably a building substrate such as sheathing. The coatings comprise, as a wet film, one or more aqueous emulsion or dispersion polymer that can form a film in use conditions and less than 6% pigment volume concentration (% PVC), of one or more opacifier, one or more extender in amounts up to critical % pigment volume concentration (CPVC), optionally, one or more pigment, and substantially no void, hollow core, or hollow sphere containing pigment. The coatings or films enable one to apply the correct amount of coating to make a weather barrier that dries to a see-through coating or film.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a polarizer protective film excellent in optical properties (retardation and haze) and excellent in the adhesion property between a polarizer and a polarizer protective film (in particular, under high temperature and high humidity conditions). The polarizer protective film of the present invention includes a (meth) acrylic resin film and an easy-adhesion layer disposed on at least one side of the film. The easy-adhesion layer is formed from an aqueous (meth)acrylic resin dispersion.
Abstract:
The invention consists of a method for dispersion in water of an alkyd resin, by means of a polymer having associative hydrophobic groups. The formulations obtained then enable a water-based alkyd paint to be manufactured, without having recourse to surfactants or solvents.
Abstract:
Food and beverage containers and methods of coating are provided. The food and beverage containers include a metal substrate that is at least partially coated with a coating prepared from a composition that includes a resin system, a crosslinker, and a catalyst. Preferably, the coating composition is substantially Bisphenol A-free.
Abstract:
A sizing agent for fibers is provided, which contains a polyester resin, and is capable of improving the emulsification stability and the sizing property while maintaining adhesive property with a matrix resin. The sizing agent for fibers is an aqueous solution or an aqueous emulsion, which contains a polyester resin (A) that satisfies all the following conditions (i)-(iv) and an aqueous medium: (i) that the polyester resin (A) is made from a dicarboxylic acid or its anhydride (a) and diols (b); (ii) that at least one of the diols (b) is diol (b1) that has an average 4.5-60 contiguous oxyethylene groups; (iii) that the weight percentage of the average 4.5-60 contiguous oxyethylene groups in the polyester resin (A) is 25-50 wt %; and (iv) that a mixture of 10 parts by weight of the polyester resin (A) and 90 parts by weight of water forms an uniform transparent solution or an uniform emulsion at 25° C.
Abstract:
A greenhouse comprising: a substantially transparent surface; a protective coating comprising a pigment and a binder. The binder comprises a vinyl polymer based on one or more of the monomers selected from the group consisting of methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, styrene, methacrylic acid and acrylic acid, having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000-100,000 and an acid value of 40-250. The binder has a polydispersity of 2-6 and a glass transition temperature of 10 to 60° C. The protective coating is on said substantially transparent surface and the protective coating is removable with a removing agent comprising a base and a complex former.
