A tandem-type image forming system comprises: a plurality of image forming apparatuses connected in series, the image forming apparatuses which respectively perform image formation on sides of a sheet, thereby performing a job, the image forming apparatuses including: a first image forming apparatus; and a second image forming apparatus provided upper than the first image forming apparatus in a sheet conveying direction, wherein the first image forming apparatus includes: a controlling section which controls transmission of image data generated based on printing data of the job received by the first image forming apparatus to the second image forming apparatus, and the second image forming apparatus includes: a controlling section which controls feeding of a sheet on which the image formation is performed based on the image data received from the first image forming apparatus.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for saving power in an office machine having a display panel are provided. The method comprises setting the apparatus in an operation standby mode, detecting whether an error exists in the apparatus and turning on the display panel to display the error thereon when the error is detected. Furthermore, the apparatus keeps the display panel in an off state when the error is not detected. Thus, the exemplary embodiments of the present invention provide a power saving method of an office machine which prevents unnecessary power consumption during an operation of an office machine having a display panel.

An exposure apparatus according to this invention uses both a first light source which outputs a light beam corresponding to a drive current corresponding to image information, and a second light source to irradiate the surface of a photosensitive drum with a plurality of light beams. The second laser light source irradiates the photosensitive drum with a laser beam in accordance with a drive current corresponding to a correction value according to which unevenness of potential characteristics due to unevenness of sensitivity of the surface of the photosensitive drum is reduced. The same region on the surface of the photosensitive drum is irradiated with laser beams which are output from the first and second laser light sources onto the photosensitive drum in superposition.

An image processing apparatus includes a connection unit that is connected to an external storage device, an image reading unit that reads image data to be stored on the external storage device at least, a controller that controls power to be supplied to the image reading unit by selecting between a standard mode and a power-saving mode consuming power less than in the standard mode. When the external storage device is connecting to the connection unit while the power-saving mode is selected, the controller determines whether the external storage device is enable to be written or not. The controller supplies power to the image reading unit in the standard mode if the controller determines the external storage device is enable to be written, or supplies power to the image reading unit in the power-saving mode if the controller determines the external storage device is not enable to be written.

An SPD may include extension data that is used to store additional data in association with the scan data. An SPD may include rights management data that is used to provide security to the scan data that is generated based on the SPD. An SPD may be used as a print process definition for dictating how print operations are to be performed. An SPD may be associated with data that identifies one or more scan devices that are prohibited from using the SPD. An SPD may be associated with access delegation data that indicates one or more users who have been delegated access to the SPD.
