Abstract:
A system and method for maximizing efficiency of call transfer from being between a customer and a dialing agent, to being between the customer and a talker is provided. The method contains the steps of: entering a dialing agent and a talker into a campaign to maintain direct communication with the dialing agent and with the talker; calling a customer via use of a dialing agent device; receiving from the dialing agent a request to transfer a connected customer from communicating with the dialing agent to communicating with a talker; and after receiving the request to transfer, transmitting an identification of a customer record associated with the connected customer to a talker computer for identifying the customer record, where the customer record has been previously stored on the talker computer prior to receiving the request to transfer.
Abstract:
A single radio multimode mobile (SRMMM) of a circuit-switched radio access technology (RAT) network and a packet data radio access technology (RAT) network including a network interface unit attached to the packet data RAT network through which an active packet data session is maintained. The SRMMM includes a processing unit in communication with a network interface unit. The SRMMM includes a display on which the processing unit displays a calling party number associated with a circuit switched page request for a voice call. A method of allowing a subscriber of a single radio multimode mobile (SRMMM) of a circuit-switched radio access technology (RAT) network and a packet data radio access technology (RAT) network to view a calling party number including comprises the steps of attaching a network interface unit to the packet data RAT network through which an active packet data session is maintained. There is the step of displaying on a display a calling party number associated with a circuit switched page request for a voice call by a processing unit.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention provide ways to track the status of calls made to mobile devices. An illustrative method includes an originating mobile device receiving data from a mobile access network about an outgoing call, utilizing the data from the mobile access network to determine the outcome of the outgoing call, displaying an indicator of the outgoing call on the originating mobile device, and displaying an indicator of the outcome (connected, no answer, voicemail, busy, etc.) on the originating mobile device.
Abstract:
A sound data providing system capable of improving the freedom of creation of sound data provided from a sending terminal to a receiving terminal, a method thereof, an exchange, and a program. A sending terminal transmits to a user interface information concerning the data of sound such as voice and digital sound, destination information and date information. The user interface converts the information received from the sending terminal to a format acceptable to an exchange to transmit the converted information to the exchange. The exchange provides a receiving terminal with the sound data at the specified date.
Abstract:
A system and method for servicing a caller at a contact center includes providing self-service menu options to the caller through an automated system, and determining a total time spent by the caller in the automated system. If the caller's attempts at self-service are unsuccessful, the caller is transferred out of the automated system and into a position of a wait queue, the position of the caller in the wait queue being determined based on a credit for the total time spent by the caller in the automated system. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an audio source selection process for a conference bridge. The conference bridge receives multiple audio sources and selects at least one of the audio sources based on the relative signal levels associated with the audio signal at each of the audio sources. The audio signals associated with the selected source are delivered to conference participants via one or more audio outputs. The conference bridge will repeatedly employ a selection process to select an audio source based on signal level measurements for the audio signals of the audio sources. During the selection process, the influence of a selected audio source relative to the other unselected audio sources is reduced, after the selected audio source has remained selected for more than a first time period.
Abstract:
An automatic redialer for a mobile device operating in a cellular telecommunications environment. When a communication is terminated, the cause of termination is identified and, if the call was terminated due to a network or mobile telephone issue or failure, the automatic redialer will then proceed to redial the number associated with the dropped call either automatically, under certain conditions, or when instructed by a user of the mobile device. The automatic redialer operates to reconnect the call regardless of whether the call was an outgoing call originated from the user's mobile device or an incoming call wherein another party placed a call to the user's mobile device. In either case, the number can be retrieved from the mobile device, or in some cases even from the network, and a call can be re-established.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided in which teleconference calls are scheduled in advance and, at an appropriate predetermined time, calls are automatically made to the designated participants of the conference calls thereby avoiding the need for the participants to call into a teleconference center. In a preferred embodiment, when teconferences are scheduled, the telecon participants are designated and their phone numbers are input or otherwise determined, for example, through access to a centralized database. A calendar is monitored and at a predetermined time relative to the scheduled start of the telecon, a server system application initiates the calling of the participants for connection to the telecon. The system may be configured to require participants to enter a password before the connection is completed. The status of the called participants is determined and displayed on individual display devices of the other participants in the telecon. In one example, designated participants are called back at selected intervals if the initial automated call is unanswered.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for monitoring usage patterns of a wireless device may include a usage monitoring and reporting module operable to monitor and log usage on a wireless device based on a received usage configuration. Further, based on the usage configuration, the wireless device may forward the log to another device operable to analyze the log and generate a usage pattern report viewable by an authorized user.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method of modifying policy settings in a network having a plurality of subscriber devices. An embodiment includes a plurality of base stations, each capable of wirelessly transmitting across a geographic region and a server. A cell-phone, capable of roaming between regions, is operable to establish a wireless link with the base stations and through the base stations, with the server. The network contains a communication policy determining from which other communication devices a subscriber device can receive voice calls. The communication policy is updated, by the server, based on requests from the subscriber devices. Once a request is received from a subscriber device, the determination whether to update the communication policy can be based on a record of rejections respective to the caller requested to be blocked. Alternatively, the communication policy can be updated according to a trust policy maintained on the server respective to the subscriber device making the request; the trust policy represents the procedure to follow when a request is received from that subscriber device.
