Abstract: A method for identifying communicators as wanted or unwanted based on messages from such communicators comprising receiving, by the data processing system, an inbound message from a communicator, comparing, by the data processing system, the inbound message to fingerprints stored in a database accessible to the data processing system, determining, by the data processing system, at least one match to the fingerprints, determining, by the data processing system, an identity of the communicator by determining whether and how likely the communicator is wanted or unwanted based on the at least one match to the fingerprints, and configuring, by the data processing system, handling of calls from the communicator based on the identity.

Abstract: A method for filtering a telephone call is provided. The method may comprise receiving from a caller the telephone call directed to a communication device associated with an intended call recipient. The received telephone call may be scored based on predetermined scoring criteria to create a score indicative of a desirability of the telephone call. Furthermore, the method may comprise comparing the score to a predetermined threshold score. Based on the comparison, the method may further comprise selectively classifying the telephone call as an unwanted telephone call. Furthermore, the method may comprise selectively rejecting the unwanted telephone call.

Abstract: An electronic digital assistant (EDA) detects a user's acoustical environment and substantively varys a content of a generated auditory output to the user as a function of the detected acoustical environment. The EDA receives an indication of an acoustic environment in which an auditory output will be provided to a user. The EDA then generates an auditory output having a substantive content that is varied as a function of the indicated acoustic environment. The EDA then provides the auditory output to an electronic output transducer associated with the user for reproduction to the user in the acoustic environment.

Systems and/or methods, described herein, may identify unwanted calls in an automated fashion, and may allow users to quickly make intelligent decisions as to whether they should answer an incoming call from an unknown number or not. Potentially unwanted calls may be blocked entirely, to further enhance users' experiences. The determination of whether a caller is an unwanted caller may be refined in an ongoing process, in order to ensure that calls are being properly blocked or allowed.

Abstract: A system or method for determining if a telephony network number is ported for use with variable numbering plan comprising, a first network node for receiving a number message comprising at least a first part of a dialled number identifying a called party, and a number portability database, containing routing numbers associated with entries in the database. The first network node is configured to compare the number message with entries in the number portability database. The first network node is configured such that if the number message or a first part of the number message uniquely matches with the whole of an entry in the database and does not match with part of another entry in the database, the first network node determines that a best match has been found. In this case, the first network node routes a call to a second network node identified by the routing number associated with the entry. The first network node is configured such that if the number message matches with at least part of at least one entry in the database, the first network node determines that at least one partial match has been found. The first network node then retrieves a further part of the dialled number. The first network node repeats the comparison based on a new number message comprising said first part of the dialled number and said further part of the dialled number. The first network node is configured such that if at least a first part of the number message cannot be matched to the whole of any entry in the database, the first network node determines that no match has been found. In this case, the first network node routes a call to a second network node identified by the dialled number.

The method of routing may further include prioritizing the plurality of queues based upon the expected service time for each call in each of the plurality of queues, directing each call in a first queue of the plurality of queues to a first group of agents, and providing a callback prompt to each call in a second queue of the plurality of queues, wherein a priority of the first queue is higher than a priority of the second queue.

Abstract: A call handling platform receives a call placed by a caller, collects data points based on the caller's interaction with an interactive voice response module, and computes an experience score for the caller using the data points. The call handling platform compares the experience score to a predetermined first threshold that indicates a first level of caller satisfaction. The call handling platform determines whether an option is enabled for recording screen captures of a display screen coupled to a machine used by a human agent. Upon determining that the caller has a lower level of satisfaction than the first level of satisfaction, the call handling platform routes the call to a human agent. Based on determining that the option for recording screen captures is enabled, the call handling platform initiates recording of screen captures of a display screen coupled to a machine used by the human agent.
