Abstract:
Described is an exercise tool. More particularly, it is a therapy and exercise tool specifically devised as a foot-therapy and toe-aligning device to align, separate, and stretch toes. The foot-therapy and toe-aligning device comprises a frame with a plurality of posts connected with the frame. The device is formed of an elastic material such that a user may place at least one of the plurality of posts between a user's toes and pull the post to stretch and elongate the post between the toes. Upon release, the elastic material of the post causes the post to attempt to return to its original shape, thereby causing it to expand out and conform its shape to fit snugly against the user's toes. Additionally, the elastic material allows the toe posts to be positioned and maintained at numerous locations between the user's toes for customizable positioning between the toes.
Abstract:
An external ear canal pressure regulation device including a fluid flow generator, an earpiece having an axial earpiece bore, and a valved conduit fluidicly coupled to the fluid flow generator and the axial earpiece bore, whereby the earpiece has a compliant earpiece external surface configured to sealably engage an external ear canal as a barrier between an external ear canal pressure and an ambient pressure.
Abstract:
A device for scar management includes an applicator head including a recess having a rotating means therein, a reservoir containing a silicone composition fluidly connected to the applicator head, and a metering valve fluidly connected to the reservoir. The composition has viscosity of 3,000 to 8,000 cps, and consists of a mixture of cyclopentasiloxane, dimethiconol, dimethicone, and dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer. A metered dose of the silicone composition is delivered from the reservoir to the applicator head upon the application of external pressure to the metering valve. The invention also relates to a method for scar management using such device by identifying a target skin area having a wound or scar, contacting the outward surface of the applicator head to the target skin area, massaging the rotating means of the applicator head on the target skin area, and applying the silicone composition to the target skin area via the rotating means.
Abstract:
An applicator for insertion and lubrication of a body lumen is disclosed having an elongate, hollow, cylindrical outer sheath including a receiving cup at a distal end for receiving a lubrication capsule; and a plunger slidingly received within the elongate, hollow cylindrical outer sheath, the plunger including a piercing element at a distal end adapted to extend into the receiving cup. A liquid-filled soft gel capsule is placed in the receiving cup, and the piercing element is used to puncture the capsule located in the receiving cup prior to insertion of the applicator into the body lumen, and wherein the plunger can be depressed once the applicator is inserted into the body lumen to eject the pierced capsule into the body lumen.
Abstract:
A handheld device for providing sexual stimulation includes a plurality of paddles contained by an attachment which can be mounted on a shaft driven by a motor of the device. Different attachments may have different numbers of paddles, and the paddles may be placed differently on different attachments or may have different shapes, among other variations in the paddles. The device is battery-operated, and a charging connection through the device housing is offered through a septum, providing a water-resistant enclosure.
Abstract:
Applicator (1) and capsule (17) for such applicator. A capsule (17) for distributing, on a surface of a living body, a product containing an active component or forming a cosmetic product, the capsule having a product distribution zone and comprising: —in a body, a supply of product which is in communication with the product distribution zone, and —first linking means (150, 511a, 511b) for removably securing the capsule to second linking means of a housing (15) in which is disposed a light source (9).
Abstract:
Provided is a massaging appliance comprising: a body which has drive means, at least one type of massaging head which comprises at least two massaging elements, a transmission mechanism which allows the massaging elements to be activated under the action of the drive means, fitting means which are designed to fit at least one type of massaging head in a removable manner on the body, distinguishing means for distinguishing the type of massaging head fitted on the body and control means for controlling said massaging appliance which, depending on which type of massaging head is distinguished, are designed to act on the drive means s as to control the movement of at least two elements of the massaging head.
Abstract:
A method for therapeutically affecting the circulation of blood in a person in combination with or with medication to treat a medical condition includes the steps of administering a composition for treating a circulatory condition, providing a source of high pressure air in fluid communication with a plurality of air pressure actuated valves, each of the valves mounted on, and in fluid communication with, an inflatable bladder disposed within a cuff removably attached about at least one of the feet, calves, thighs, buttocks of the person; providing a source of low pressure air in fluid communication with said plurality of valves, wherein a constant pressure is exerted against said valves; and controlling inflation of said bladders in a predetermined sequence, magnitude of inflation pressure and period of time during a cardiac cycle of the person and as a function of said person's physiological reaction to said composition.
Abstract:
The present disclosure seeks to address the primary problem of long application durations to deliver an effective dose of an active ingredient. The devices combine mechanical motion with electrically induced flux (e.g., iontophoresis). The combination of techniques in a single device can reduce the treatment time required to deliver the active ingredient in an effective dose, or deliver a larger dose over the same duration of application.
Abstract:
A dermatological skin treatment device is provided. The device comprises a handpiece and a cutting tool, wherein the tool is inserted through the conduit and percutaneously inserted into a tissue disposed within a recessed area of the handpiece. The device and method cut the fibrous structures under the skin that cause cellulite at an angle substantially parallel to the surface of the skin and replace these structures with a non-cellulite forming structure by deploying a highly fibrous mesh through a single needle hole to create a highly fibrous layer directly or through wound healing processes.
