Abstract: A method for driving one or more electrically powered light sources, such as LED modules, may include applying a pulse-width-modulated signal thereto having a pulse-repetition frequency and a duty-cycle, the duty-cycle being selectively variable in order to vary the intensity of light emitted by the light source or light sources. To counter the occurrence of temporal light artefacts, or TLAs, the method may include frequency modulating the pulse-width-modulated signal (VPWM) by varying the pulse-repetition frequency thereof around a certain value between a lower frequency value and a higher frequency value, thus giving rise to a signal with combined FM/PWM modulation.

Abstract: A computer-vision system is equipped with a first camera and a second camera spaced apart from each other and enables acquisition of a first image and a second image of a light beam that propagates from a light-beam source towards a target position of the light beam. The first image and the second image of the beam differ from each other as a result of the first camera and the second camera being spaced apart from each other. The system produces a disparity map of the first image and second image of the beam to be projected in a three-dimensional point cloud starting from the disparity map according to point-cloud-projection calibration data that set in relation disparity maps for reference images with respective three-dimensional point clouds.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to various embodiments of an optical package for a LIDAR sensor system having a substrate including an array of a plurality of capacitors formed in the substrate, a plurality of switches formed in the substrate, where each switch is connected between at least one laser diode and at least one capacitor of the plurality of capacitors; and at least one laser diode being mounted in close proximity to the plurality of capacitors on the substrate in order to provide small parasitic inductances and capacitances. A processor is configured to control the plurality of switches to control a first current flow to charge the plurality of capacitors, wherein the processor is configured to control the plurality of switches to control a second current flow to drive the at least one laser diode with current discharged from at least one capacitor of the plurality of capacitors.

Abstract: A lighting apparatus for show-business or entertainment sector comprises a light-radiation generator for projecting a lighting beam towards a lighting space that includes one or more undesired lighting zones. A motorization causes the lighting beam to scan the lighting space as a function of scanning-control signals as received by the lighting apparatus. Driving circuitry is provided, configured to control emission of the lighting beam, as well as processing circuitry configured to sense the scanning-control signals received and the scanning position of the lighting beam of the light-radiation generator. As a result of the detection of received scanning-control signals that can lead the lighting beam to being brought into the undesired lighting zone, the processing circuitry acts on the motorization and/or on the driving circuitry of the light-radiation generator, containing projection of the lighting beam directed towards the undesired lighting zone and preventing possible risks of a photobiological nature.

Abstract: A computer network may include a Non-IP subnetwork for communication between the gateway and the frontend device, an IP subnetwork for communication between the gateway and at least one backend device, and a gateway connecting the Non-IP subnetwork with the IP subnetwork and translating communication therebetween. The IP communication is based on an IP security protocol, providing means for authentication and/or encryption. The gateway mediates handshaking for establishing a secure tunnel for secure end-to-end communication between the backend device and the frontend device. The secure tunnel is set to apply a session key. The gateway and the backend device exchange datagrams with handshaking parameters. The Non-IP messages are exchanged with a subset of the handshaking parameters. The backend device and the frontend device generate the session keys and to authenticate the handshaking incorporating the handshaking parameters and subset of handshaking parameters, respectively.
