Systems and methods for catalyst activation in ethylene reactions are described. Systems and methods may include pre-mixing at least one ligand and at least one chromium source in at least one solvent to form a pre-mixed composition; activating the pre-mixed composition with an activator to form an activated composition; and supplying the pre-activated composition to a reactor.

A catalyst composition comprises an inert hydrocarbon solvent, having dissolved therein a titanate of the formula Ti(OR)4 wherein each R is the same or different, and is a hydrocarbon residue, and an organic aluminum compound, wherein a molar ratio of the organic aluminum compound and any alkene present in the catalyst composition is greater than one.

A process for the preparation of a chemical composition comprising an aromatic compound α in a concentration B by weight, based on the total weight of the chemical composition, includes: a. providing the following reaction components: i. a chemical composition comprising the following: a) The aromatic compound α in a concentration A by weight based on the total weight of the chemical composition, and b) An olefin in an amount of about 50 to about 99.99 wt. %, based on the total weight of the chemical composition, and ii. an acid; and b. reacting the components to obtain the chemical composition comprising the aromatic compound α in a concentration B by weight based on the total weight of the chemical composition; wherein the concentration B is less than the concentration A.
Abstract:
Methods for generating a purified catalyst are provided. The method includes performing a reaction in a reaction vessel to generate a liquid catalyst and reaction products, purging the reaction products using an inert gas to form a purged catalyst, freezing the purged catalyst in the reaction vessel, and applying a vacuum to the reaction vessel while the purged catalyst thaws, wherein the vacuum removes residual reaction products to form a purified catalyst. Systems for generating a purified catalyst and a purified catalyst are also provided.
