Abstract: A static spray mixer for mixing and spraying two flowable components includes a tubular mixer housing extending in the direction of a longitudinal axis up to a distal end with an outlet opening, having one mixing element arranged in the mixer housing for mixing the components and having an atomization sleeve with an inner surface surrounding the mixer housing in an end region. The atomization sleeve has an inlet channel for a pressurized atomization medium. A plurality of grooves is in the outer surface of the mixer housing or in the inner surface of the atomization sleeve and extend toward the distal end and form separate flow channels between the atomization sleeve and the mixer housing through which the atomization medium flows from the inlet channel of the atomization sleeve to the distal end of the mixer housing. The inlet channel is arranged asymmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A seeder includes a housing defining a cavity, a housing gas inlet, and a seeder outlet. A sprayer is disposed within the cavity and includes a sprayer gas inlet configured to receive a gas, wherein the sprayer gas inlet is in fluid communication with the housing gas inlet. The sprayer also includes a sprayer liquid intake configured to be in fluid communication with the cavity to intake a liquid media from the cavity and a sprayer nozzle configured to be in fluid communication with the cavity above a liquid level. The sprayer is configured to combine the liquid media with the gas to spray a gas-liquid mixture through the sprayer nozzle and on to an interior spray surface of the housing.

Abstract: A nozzle and a method of generating an inhalable aerosol from a liquid solution or liquid suspension and a gas by operating the nozzle. A column-like aerosol plume is generated having fluid particles within a particle free sheath of gas, the aerosol plume being generated from a compressed gas interacting within the aerosolizing space with a fluid ejected along the central axis, and generates a Venturi effect entraining gas that flows over the convex outer nozzle surface that together with the particle free sheath keeps the circumferential edge and the outer nozzle surface free of particle deposition. An aerosol exit orifice diameter is at least 1.3 times larger than the fluid exit orifice diameter; and a converging annular pressurized gas channel extending at an acute gas flow angle of 10-30° with respect to a central axis.

Each fuel circuit includes an inlet, an outlet orifice, a main passage fluidly coupling the inlet with the outlet orifice, and a branch passage connected to the main passage. The branch passage connects to the main passage downstream of the inlet and upstream of the outlet orifice to form an effective metering flow area that is smaller than the flow area of the outlet orifice.

Abstract: A shower head (10C) has at least one mixing chamber (24) having an air inlet (18) for connection to a supply of pressurized air and a water inlet (22) for connection to a supply of pressurized water so that, in use, the air breaks the water up into droplets in the mixing chamber. The mixing chamber further has at least one outlet (32) so that, in use, the water droplets and air exit the shower head to form a shower of water droplets having a mean trajectory. The or each outlet is arranged so that, in use, at least a substantial proportion of the water droplets exit the shower head so that their individual trajectories on leaving the shower head are offset from the mean trajectory of the shower head and converge towards the mean trajectory of the shower head. This can result in a more uniform distribution of water droplets in the shower pattern. A single annular outlet may be provided, or a plurality of separate outlets. In order to assist in breaking up the water into small droplets, a vortex may be induced in the air and/or the water in the mixing chamber, and/or a deflector may be disposed adjacent the water inlet into the mixing chamber.

Abstract: A spray assembly for dispensing a mixture is provided. The spray assembly includes a connector configured for operable engagement with a first and second source of component and a source of pressurized fluid, and a tip operably connected to the connector. The tip includes an opening and defines a mixing chamber between the connector and the opening of the tip, and an insert member configured to be received in the mixing chamber. The insert member includes a plurality of radially extending slots on at least one end of the insert. The plurality of radially extending slots is configured to mix the first and second components prior to the mixture exiting the opening in the tip.

Abstract: The inventions disclosed by this application are for a cladding apparatus, a cladding head, and a method of cladding a relatively planar solid object such as a boiler waterwall. Cladding of non-horizontal surfaces is complicated by the effects of gravity as melted clad material trends to runoff the surface before the cladding material bonds to the appropriate location. The disclosed inventions overcome these limitations by controlling the relative angle of application by either rotating the workpiece or the cladding head through a pre-programmed sequence. Also presented in a compact design for a laser cladding head that facilitates such cladding by minimizing movement of the laser fiber and improves cladding speed over irregular shaped objects.
