A method according to the present invention for reducing the creation of dioxins during the burning of a biomass containing a contaminant, wherein the contaminant is solvated or neutralized in the presence of a corresponding solvent, includes the steps of prior to the burning or reacting (herein collectively referred to as burning) of the biomass, conveying the biomass and the solvent into a biomass washing means, washing the biomass in the solvent in the washing means, and once at least a portion of the contaminant has been washed from the biomass, conveying the biomass from the washing means and into a biomass burner, and conveying the solvent from the washing means.
Abstract:
A fluid bed disposal method and apparatus are disclosed including a secondary bed/elutriation arrestor obstruction of labyrinth construction in the fluid bed reactor having lower and upper vertically spaced-apart perforate retention plates between which are positioned at least first and second vertically spacedapart grates with the grate bars of the grates staggered with respect to one another. The lower surface of the bars of the lower perforate plate is disclosed as stepped between at least two horizontal surface locations. At least two fluid bed/elutriation arrestor labyrinth obstructions spaced apart above the bed of granular material are disclosed.
Abstract:
A system and method to prevent an oxidizer overheating using cold side bypass for a volatile organic compounds (VOCs) treatment system with a series rotor are described, which is mainly used in the organic waste air treatment system. The system is equipped with a thermal oxidizer (to), a first heat exchanger, a second heat exchanger, a third heat exchanger, a first cold-side transporting pipeline, a first adsorption rotor, a second adsorption rotor, and a chimney. A cold-side proportional damper is installed between the first desorption-treated air pipeline and the first cold-side transporting pipeline, or it is installed on the first desorption-treated air pipeline. When the VOCs concentration becomes higher, the cold-side proportional damper can regulate the airflow to adjust the heat-recovery amount or concentration, when treating the organic waste air, it can prevent the thermal oxidizer from being overheated due to high oxidizer temperature, and protect from thermal oxidizer shut-down.

Abstract:
The invention aims at making a volatile organic compound harmless, and in addition comprehensively improving the energy efficiency within a facility where treatment of the volatile organic compound is necessary. In the invention, in order to achieve this aim, a solution means is adopted where, a discharge gas containing a volatile organic compound is supplied to an adsorption apparatus to adsorb the volatile organic compound in an adsorbent. The volatile organic compound is desorbed from the adsorbent with pressurized steam and mixed with the steam. The steam containing the volatile organic compound is supplied, in the pressurized state, to the combustion chamber of a gas turbine, and burned together with a fuel gas.
Abstract:
A method and system for using plastic material as a fuel includes dissolving the plastic material in biodiesel to form a solution. After the solution is created, it is filtered to remove insoluble contaminants and is then fed to a generator that oxidizes the solution to create power and/or heat. Heat from the oxidation of the solution can be utilized to facilitate the further dissolution of plastic material in biodiesel and to reduce the viscosity of the resulting solution.
Abstract:
A waste water treating device can be simply installed in a small area and destroy combustible wastes and sludge to reduce fuel consumption cost of a burner. Moreover, the waste water treating device can increase a treating amount of the waste water per unit time to thereby reduce an activation time thereof and decrease installation and maintenance cost, to thereby obtain an economic advantage. The waste water treating device includes: a treater( 10) having a burner (13) which evaporates waste water and destroys by fire sludge contained within the waste water, if the waste water ejected through nozzles (32) flows to a combustion chamber (12) and combustible general wastes are inserted through an insertion hole (111); a supplier (20) which supplies the waste water from a collecting tank to the treater (10), an ejector (30) which ejects the waste water supplied from the supplier (20) to the treater (10), and a dust collector (40) which is connected to an ejecting hole (113) of the treater (10), for collecting dusts contained within exhaust gas ejected from the treater (10).
