Abstract: Disclosed is a method of controlling a calculation device via a mobile element to generate at least one control command associated with its vectorial orientation. The mobile element includes sensors able to provide relative measurements and absolute measurements. The method includes the following steps: provision of an initial vectorial orientation; taking of measurements by the set of sensors; determination of a first elementary vectorial orientation from relative measurements and the prior vectorial orientation; determination of a second elementary vectorial orientation from absolute measurements; determination of the current vectorial orientation from the first and second elementary vectorial orientations; and association of a control command.

Abstract: In certain embodiments, a computer-implemented method includes detecting a graphical control element on a graphical user interface (GUI), determining a type of the graphical control element, generating configuration control data to cause an input device to configure one or more input elements on the input device to perform functions corresponding to the type of the graphical control element, and sending the configuration control data to the input device. In some cases, the configuration control data causes the input device to configure at least two of the one or more input elements to perform functions corresponding to the type of the graphical control element, and wherein the at least two of the one or more input elements are associated with different functions. The type of graphical control element can be one of a video media player, audio media player, hyperlink, word processor document, spreadsheet document, or alphanumeric text.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a remote control apparatus, a remote control method, a remote control system, and a program that are capable of achieving remote control by an intuitive motion using only a hand and an eye.A plurality of imaging units capture images of a space in which an eye and a hand of a user and an operation target device are present. Positions of the eye and the hand of the user and the operation target device are specified on the basis of the captured images. A line of sight of the user is specified on the basis of a positional relationship between the eye of the user and the operation target device. A motion of the user that is made while the hand is located on a straight line being the line of sight is assumed as an operation instruction given to the operation target device. The operation instruction is transmitted to the operation target device to cause the operation target device to operate. The present disclosure can be applied to a remote control apparatus.
