A communications device is disclosed that includes a communication part configured to perform communications with an electronic apparatus, and an application related to the electronic apparatus. The communication part notifies the application of an event occurring in the electronic apparatus in response to reception thereof, and transmits a request to operate a hardware resource of the electronic apparatus to the electronic apparatus, the request being generated in the processing of the application executed in response to the event.

A log-information processing apparatus includes a first interface unit, a storage unit, and a control unit. The first interface unit is configured to be attached and removed to and from an image processing apparatus. When the first interface unit is connected to the image processing apparatus, the control unit performs initialization on units included in the log-information processing apparatus, acquires log information from the image processing apparatus via the first interface unit, and stores acquired log information in the storage unit.

In an image forming device including a processor unit, a first screen generating part generates a screen to be displayed on an operation panel and displays the screen on the operation panel. A second screen generating part generates screen data to be displayed on an information processing device and transmits the screen data to the information processing device. An application managing part selects, in response to a request of execution of an application, one of the first and second screen generating parts as a candidate for use of the application based on a source inputting the request. The first and second screen generating parts are configured to receive a request of generation of a screen using a common interface, and the application inputs through the common interface the request to the selected one of the first and second screen generating parts.

In a communication system, an image forming apparatus sends an address of a receiving section to a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal receives a selection of an image data among plural thumbnails displayed on a display section, and wirelessly sends the selected image data to the image forming apparatus with the address. The image forming apparatus receives the selected image data sent with the address by the mobile terminal, and prints an image based on the selected image data. A communication between the mobile terminal and the image forming apparatus is performed wirelessly with an IEEE 802.11 standard. The image forming apparatus keeps the address of the mobile terminal without deleting the address of the mobile terminal when the communication with the mobile terminal through the receiving section is finished.

In a communication system, an image forming apparatus sends an address of a receiving section to an external device. The external device receives a selection of image data through plural thumbnails displayed on a display section, and wirelessly sends the selected image data to the image forming apparatus with the address. The image forming apparatus receives the selected image data, and prints an image. The image forming apparatus accepts a selection indicating whether a communication between the external device and the image forming apparatus is performed either by a first or second communication system method. The image forming apparatus performs sending and/or receiving the image data with the address by the first communication system method when the first communication system method is selected, and performs sending and/or receiving the image data with the address by the second communication system method when the second communication system method is selected.

An electronic camera and method of operating an electronic camera which detects whether an external device such as a personal computer is properly connected to the camera and in a state which permits communication. The camera monitors a data terminal ready (DTR) signal of an RS-232 connection in order to determine that the external device is properly connected and in a state which permits communication. Once the proper connection is detected, the camera can either transmit or receive images and/or audio from the external device. Accordingly, a specific switch which places the camera in a communication mode can be eliminated. Further, a single switch may be utilized for both controlling whether the camera records or plays images when there is no device connected, and which controls whether the camera transmits or receives images and/or audio when an external device is determined to be connected.

Systems and methods are provided though which a transaction, e.g., in a multi-tier, distributed application may be initiated from a portable or hand-held device, such as a smartphone. A computer system or systems, possibly remote from the device, may approve the transaction, complete it, or both, and the remote computer system or systems may cause a document to be printed, e.g., by a printer physically proximate to the device.Aspects of the invention are illustrated by embodiments in which a drug prescription may be created electronically using a hand-held device. In such an embodiment, the prescription may be transmitted to one or more remote computer systems, such as an application server, for processing. If specified, the remote computer systems may cause a prescription to be printed, e.g., at a printer near the prescriber's location. The prescriber may sign the printed prescription and give it to a patient or pharmacy.

The present invention relates to a method of transferring an image of a mobile telephony device named transmitter (T) to another mobile telephony device named receiver (R), the method comprising of step (1) for the preparation of the transfer in which the user selects an image (P) stored in a memory of the transmitter (T), a receiver (R) is selected after a searching phase and a radio frequency communication is established between the transmitter and the receiver, step (3) of validation of this transfer by the user and step (2) of effective transfer of the selected image (P) in which begins the effective transfer of the image. The method is characterized in that the said step (2) of effective transfer of the selected image (P) follows step (1) of preparation of the transfer of this image (P) and is prior to step (3) of validation of the transfer by the user.The present invention also relates to an image transfer system, a mobile telephony device and a computer program.

An image forming apparatus, a method of communicating with a cloud server in the image forming apparatus, and a computer-readable recording medium are provided. The image forming apparatus includes: a user interface unit which, if a menu related to an access to the cloud server is selected, displays an account information user interface (UI) window to input account information; a storage unit which stores cloud clients; a controller which automatically selects a cloud client corresponding to the input account information from the cloud clients stored in the storage unit and detects cloud server information corresponding to the selected cloud client from the selected cloud client; and a communication interface unit which transmits the account information to the cloud server by using the cloud server information to log in the cloud server and communicates with the logged-in cloud server.
