Abstract:
Described are handheld devices with combined image capture and image projection functions. One embodiment includes modulating and capturing a light beam along the same optic path. In another embodiment, the optical components are operable to switch between projection and capture modes. In yet another embodiment, the optical components may be formed on the same semiconductor substrate thereby increasing functionality.
Abstract:
A mouse with a shooting function and an image pickup system are provided. The image pickup system includes a mouse and a computer system. A shooting program is installed in the computer system. The mouse includes an image pickup device and a supporting member. The supporting member is used for fixing a business card. The shooting program is executed to judge whether the business card is separated from the image pickup device by a shooting distance, which is equal to a focal length of the image pickup device. If the business card is separated from the image pickup device by the shooting distance, the image pickup device is enabled by the shooting program to shoot the business card, thereby acquiring a business card image.
Abstract:
A video camera can be configured to highly compress video data in a visually lossless manner. The camera can be configured to transform blue and red image data in a manner that enhances the compressibility of the data. The data can then be compressed and stored in this form. This allows a user to reconstruct the red and blue data to obtain the original raw data for a modified version of the original raw data that is visually lossless when demosaiced. Additionally, the data can be processed in a manner in which the green image elements are demosaiced first and then the red and blue elements are reconstructed based on values of the demosaiced green image elements.
Abstract:
A disclosed image processing device includes: a media connecting portion including a first surface and a second surface forming a space for housing a protrusion type storage medium whose body protrudes from the media connecting portion and an insertion type storage medium whose body is inserted into the media connecting portion; a protrusion type slot portion for protrusion type storage media formed on the first surface; and an insertion type slot portion for insertion type storage media formed on the second surface. An insertion direction in the protrusion type slot portion is substantially orthogonal to an insertion direction in the insertion type slot portion.
Abstract:
Provided is a print controller for a mobile telephone handset. The controller includes a printer central processor configured to control operation of an integral printing assembly of the handset. An image sensor is arranged in signal communication with the central processor and is configured for capturing images. The controller also includes a print media feed apparatus configured to feed print media through the printing assembly.
Abstract:
A digital camera includes a housing having a front surface, a rear surface, a base surface and an inclined surface adjoining the rear and base surfaces; an image sensor for capturing an image, the image sensor provided on the front surface; a printer located within the housing for printing the captured image on media external to the camera, a printhead of the printer being provided on the inclined surface and at an angle normal thereto; an ink cartridge having one or more longitudinal ink reservoirs, the ink cartridge removably received in a receptacle defined in the rear surface and biased into ink communication pins in the receptacle by a resilient member arranged at one end of the ink cartridge opposite the ink communication pins; and a speed sensor for sensing a speed at which the camera traverses the media. The printhead of the printer is operated in accordance with the speed sensed by the speed sensor, and the inclined surface is presented parallel to the media to effect printing.
Abstract:
An optical text scanning device compatible with a small handheld computer such as a personal digital assistant (PDA). The scanning device allows for a clear view of the text that is scanned simultaneous to the scanning process so that the operator can continuously align the device to the text. The scanned images of the text are converted in real-time to standard byte or word characters for subsequent display on the computer's viewing screen. The operator can quickly verify the accuracy of the conversion by comparing the displayed character with the actual character of text on the surface that is being scanned. Scanned text characters are stored in standard digital text files for ease of manipulation.
Abstract:
A notebook computer that has a document holding function includes an upper cover and a base. The upper cover includes a screen and an image pickup device. The base includes a keyboard and a touchpad. A touchpad chassis is disposed under the touchpad and connected with a bottom surface of the touchpad. A fixing recess is formed in an edge surface of the touchpad chassis for holding the document. A rotatable frame is disposed under the touchpad for overturning the touchpad chassis. As such, a shooting angle is defined between the image pickup device and the document held in the fixing recess.
Abstract:
A printer includes an elongate support case defining a docking bay and having a personal computer interface connector protruding from a first end thereof; a print media cartridge configured to dock in the docking bay in a releasable manner; a page-width printhead assembly mounted across a second end of the support case opposite the first end, the page-width printhead assembly including a static ink ejection printhead for ejecting ink upon print media supplied from the print media cartridge; and a series of ink channel reservoirs including one reservoir for each color printed by the ink ejection printhead. The reservoirs are formed around the ink ejection printhead with feed channels progressively reducing in size to feed the printhead.
Abstract:
A card-type printing device includes a support structure defining an exposed body portion; an electrical connector located at a first end of the support structure, the electrical connector adapted for insertion into a corresponding electrical socket to send and receive data; a printhead assembly located at a second end of the support structure opposite the first end, the printhead assembly electrically coupled to the electrical connector; a printhead and a feed arrangement for feeding print media to the printhead, the printhead and the feed arrangement included in the printhead assembly; a print media cartridge releasably mounted in the exposed body portion of the support structure, between the electrical connector and the printhead assembly; and a cover engaging the support structure in a releasable manner to cover the printhead assembly. The feed assembly includes a row of ink storage channels provided within an outer ink reservoir, and a channeling structure provided below and in fluid communication with the row of ink storage channels.
