Abstract: Provided is a heat treatment method for a cam piece, and the cam piece has an insertion hole into which a cam shaft is inserted, a base portion configuring a base circle of a cam, and a nose portion configuring a cam ridge. The heat treatment method for the cam piece includes: a first step of using a jig formed into a shape having a cavity, the jig being inserted into the insertion hole such that the cavity is located between an inner circumferential surface of the nose portion of the cam piece and a central axis of the jig; and a second step of heating the cam piece from an outer circumferential surface side by high-frequency induction heating in a state in which the jig is inserted in the insertion hole of the cam piece.

Abstract: A valve drive device for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The valve drive device has an axially displaceable cam element and an adjusting device with a first engagement element which displaces the cam element axially into a first switching position and a second engagement element which displaces the cam element axially into a second switching position. The adjusting device has a first slotted guide track in which the first engagement element is guided in the first switching position and a second slotted guide track in which the second engagement element is guided in the second switching position. The first engagement element is positively coupled to the second engagement element. The adjusting device includes a triggering device which holds the first engagement element fixedly in the second switching position counter to a restoring force. A method for axial displacement of a rotating cam element is also disclosed.

Abstract: A camshaft may have a bearing shaft configured as a hollow shaft in which an inner shaft is disposed concentrically relative to the bearing shaft. The inner shaft may be twistable relative to the bearing shaft. A first cam segment having a first recess for receiving the bearing shaft may be disposed on the bearing shaft, may be rotatable relative to the bearing shaft, and may be connected in a rotationally fixed and axially fixed manner to the inner shaft. A second cam segment having a second recess for receiving the bearing shaft may be disposed on the bearing shaft. The second cam segment may have at least two cam contours and may be fastened on the bearing shaft so that the second cam segment is rotationally fixed to the bearing shaft and arranged in an axially displaceable manner on the bearing shaft.

Abstract: An adjustable valve device includes: a first cam portion penetrated by a camshaft, rotating with the camshaft, and including an elongated hole formed therein; a U or L shaped second cam portion supported by the first cam portion so as to swing to move between a first state and a second state; a stopper pin fixed to the second cam portion and penetrating through the elongated hole; a biasing member biasing the stopper pin so that the second cam portion becomes in the first state; a lock mechanism locking the second cam portion only when the second cam portion is in the first state; and a cam follower exerting a reactive force so that the second cam portion becomes in the second state in a state where a lock of the second cam portion is released, wherein the reactive force is greater than a biasing force of the biasing member.
