Abstract:
A printing apparatus includes: a tag information reading/writing unit which reads information from an IC tag attached to or embedded in a predetermined location of a print medium and writes information to the IC tag through wireless communication with the IC tag and which reads layout information, which defines at least a location of a printable area on the print medium, from the IC tag; a record data inputting unit which inputs record data representing contents recorded on the print medium; and a printing control unit which performs a printing process on the print medium on the basis of print target data in which a print location of the contents represented by the record data is determined on the basis of the layout information and which updates the layout information on the basis of information directly or indirectly representing a printed area in the print medium subjected to the printing process and allows the tag information reading/writing unit to write the layout information subjected to the updating process to the IC tag.
Abstract:
When a wireless communication network is built in an ad hoc mode, it is possible to appropriately build the wireless communication network regardless of start timings of wireless communication functions of image capturing apparatuses. In order to achieve the object, there is provided the image capturing apparatus which is capable of building a wireless communication network by wirelessly connecting to another image capturing apparatus in an ad hoc mode, and which is capable of switching between a function as a creator and a function as a joiner, including a start unit configured to start as the creator, a unit configured to execute a scan process, and a unit configured to determine based on a result of the scan process whether to function as the creator and to function as the joiner, and to control the image capturing apparatus in accordance with the determination result.
Abstract:
An imaging apparatus is provided including an imaging unit configured to obtain image data, a display unit, and a communication unit configured to communicate with a plurality of external apparatuses. The imaging apparatus further includes a storing unit configured to store person identification information including at least face image data while associating the person recognition information with information relating to the external apparatuses, a collation unit configured to collate a target in the image data with the person identification information, a detection unit configured to detect an external apparatus that is communicating with the imaging apparatus, and a display control unit configured to display a plurality of pieces of face image data on the display unit each as a candidate of a transmission destination of the image data in an order based on a result of collation by the collation unit and a result of detection by the detection unit.
Abstract:
The position and orientation at a time of shooting by a shooting unit of a portable terminal is transmitted to an information processing apparatus. Based on the transmitted position and orientation of the portable terminal and the stored position of an image processing apparatus, the information processing apparatus extracts an image processing apparatus from the shot image and transmits information about the extracted image processing apparatus to the portable terminal. The portable terminal combines the shot image with an option for selecting a function available in the image processing apparatus and displays the combined image on a display unit, based on the information transmitted from the information processing apparatus. When selection of a function is accepted, a screen for operating the selected function is displayed on the display unit of the portable terminal.
Abstract:
A computer-readable recording device may store a computer program including instructions for causing a computer of a mobile device to operate as: (1) an image specifying module that specifies a plurality of partial images corresponding to a plurality of candidate devices within a taken image that is displayed by a display unit provided in the mobile device, and (2) a communication controlling module that controls a communication unit configured to communicate using a wireless network such that the communication unit communicates with a candidate device corresponding to the partial image, in a case where an operation unit configured to receive an operation on the mobile device by a user receives a selection of the partial image.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and system for communicating between an apparatus hosting a workflow application and an imaging device, the system including a state engine configured to read and extract data from a first message received from the imaging device, to communicate with an application component, and to advance to a workflow state, a state translator configured to receive the workflow state from the state engine, to convert the workflow state into an imaging device instruction, and to send the imaging device instruction to the imaging device, a state instantiater configured to change a state of a component of the imaging device in accordance with the imaging device instruction, an event responder configured to assemble data in a second message based on the changed state of the component of the imaging device, and an interface configured to send the second message to the apparatus.
Abstract:
A wireless location based rendering job delivery system and method. An account with respect to a remote recipient can be subscribed to a globally accessible network cloud and GPS location data with respect to the remote recipient can be transmitted to the network cloud via a mobile communication device. A rendering job including job metadata with respect to a submitter can be transmitted to the network cloud and a list of recipients capable of receiving the rendering job in the network cloud can be provided. The rendering job metadata can be matched along with the recipient GPS location data to determine an appropriate print center in order to submit the rendering job. The rendering job can then be delivered to the recipient based on the location data thereby maintaining complete privacy.
Abstract:
An electronic camera comprises a wireless communication unit that performs wireless communication with a computer or a printer, and a power save mode changeover unit that changes over a power save mode to either an ON or an OFF state according to the operational state of the electronic camera, if the power save mode is changed over to ON by the power save mode changeover unit, the wireless communication unit stops its operation when radio waves are not being transmitted, and if the power save mode is changed over to OFF, the wireless communication unit operates in a standby state when radio waves are not being transmitted.
Abstract:
A hand-held device provided with a display section including a position identifying section for identifying the position of a hand-held device; an orientation identifying section for identifying an orientation of the hand-held device; and a control section that specifies a prescribed managed apparatus located within a prescribed range of distance from a hand-held device and in a specific direction of the hand-held device, based on the pre-stored position information on one or plural managed apparatuses, and acquires the status information showing the status of the aforementioned prescribed managed apparatus to display this status information on the display section. Further, an image pick-up section is provided to capture an image in the specific direction. The control section controls the display section to display an image formed by superimposing the aforementioned status information onto the image of the prescribed managed apparatus captured by the image pick-up section.
Abstract:
A communication system and a communication method for permitting a user of a cell-phone to receive data in a non-service area via an MFP. When the communication condition between a base station and a cell-phone becomes bad, the base station sends a map showing the current position of the cell-phone and the locations of nearby MFPs to the cell-phone. The user of the cell-phone selects one from the MFPs on the map and notifies the base station of the selected MFP. The base station sends an e-mail addressed to the cell-phone to the selected MFP, and the MFP stores the e-mail therein. The user of the cell-phone makes an access to the MFP by short-distance wireless communication to receive the e-mail.
