Abstract:
A process for preparing a completely delaminated graphene oxide/rubber nanocomposite. The process combines emulsion compounding with flocculation or spray drying, retains the morphology of graphene oxide/rubber composite in a liquid state, and achieves highly dispersed and highly delaminated morphology dispersed on nano scale. Furthermore, a substance able to produce ionic bonding or chemical bonding with the surface functional groups of graphene oxide is added to graphene oxide/hydrosol, as a surfactant, thus the interfacial bonding between graphene oxide and the rubber is increased. The composite is subjected to subsequent compounding and vulcanization to prepare a vulcanizate with dynamic performance, such as a high tensile strength, stress at a definite elongation, tearing strength, etc.
Abstract:
Provided is a resin composition which is characterized by including nanofibers in a hydrophilic resin or a polyolefin resin, wherein the nanofibers are cellulose nanofibers and the average fiber diameter thereof is 4 to 1000 nm. The X-ray diffraction pattern of the resin composition has an intensity distribution which indicates that a resin crystal is oriented.

Abstract:
The polymer-clay nanocomposite material is a nanocompo site formed from poly(styrene-co-butyl methacrylate) copolymer and organo-modified clay by in situ polymerization. Nanoparticles of a montmorillonite clay that has been modified with a quaternary ammonium salt is dispersed into a mixture of polystyrene and butyl methacrylate monomers to form a mixture, which then undergoes bulk radical polymerization. The poly(styrene-co-butyl methacrylate) copolymer may have a styrene to butyl methacrylate ratio of about 60 to 40 or about 20:80. Preferably, the organically modified montmorillonite clay forms between 1.0 wt % and 5.0 wt % of the mixture. A free radical initiator, such as benzoyl peroxide, is used to initiate polymerization. The clay nano-filler provides the nanocomposite with improved thermal stability.
