Abstract: An improved game surface for a table game system includes a random number generator for identifying one or more numbers relevant to determining an outcome of a game of chance. The table game surface includes a game layout, including a plurality of player positions and a plurality of wagering areas corresponding to different possible outcomes. Each wagering area includes at least one illumination source associated therewith that can be switched between an on condition and an off condition. Each at least one illumination source may be configured to switch to the on condition when the wagering area with which it is associated is a winning outcome.

Abstract: A roulette-style game of chance which is played using a player-banked system. The role of temporary Banker is randomly offered to one of the player positions (12-22). If a player is not available or willing to accept the role, a licensed Banker is appointed as temporary Banker and game play begins. Once a game decision is reached, wagers are resolved according to pre-established wager resolution priorities with pay-outs being resolved before collections. In situations where a player acts as temporary Banker, other players may bank behind the temporary Banker by placing supplemental value at risk. A player acting as temporary Banker, and any players banking behind the temporary Banker, are not permitted to pay out and collect more than the aggregated amount of value they have placed at risk. Once a pre-determined number of games of chance have been played and resolved in this manner, the role of temporary Banker is offered to another player so that all players have an equal chance of participating in the role of temporary Banker.

Abstract: A hand-held, self-contained, battery-powered test instrument for analyzing composition of a sample includes an exciter for exciting at least a portion of the sample, a compact cross-dispersed spectrometer for receiving an optical signal from the excited portion of the sample and a processor for processing spectral data about the optical signal from the spectrometer. The exciter may include a spark generator and a counter electrode, a laser or other device for generating the optical signal from the sample portion. The spectrometer has a wavelength range broad enough to enable the test instrument to detect and determine relative quantities of carbon, phosphorous, sulfur, manganese, silicon, iron and other elements necessary to identify common alloys. The spectrometer includes a structural member made of a light-weight material having a small coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). The spectrometer is dimensionally stable over a range of expected ambient temperatures, without controlling the temperature of the spectrometer.
