Abstract: Described herein is a device and a method for generating radiation, in particular pulsed radiation, specifically within the infrared spectral range. Also described herein is a computer program product which includes executable instructions for performing the method. The device for generating radiation includes at least one radiation emitting element, where the radiation emitting element is designated for generating radiation upon being heated by an electrical current; a mount, where the mount carries the at least one radiation emitting element, and where the mount or a portion thereof is movable; and a heat sink, where the heat sink is designated for cooling the mount and the at least one radiation emitting element being carried by the mount upon being touched by the mount. The device, the method, and the computer program product can be used in a spectroscopic application.

The detector (110) comprises: —at least two optical sensors (118, 120, 176), each optical sensor (118, 120, 176) having a light-sensitive area (122, 124), wherein each light-sensitive area (122, 124) has a geometrical center (182, 184), wherein the geometrical centers (182, 184) of the optical sensors (118, 120, 176) are spaced apart from an optical axis (126) of the detector (110) by different spatial offsets, wherein each optical sensor (118, 120, 176) is configured to generate a sensor signal in response to an illumination of its respective light-sensitive area (122, 124) by a light beam (116) propagating from the object (112) to the detector (110); and—at least one evaluation device (132) being configured for determining at least one longitudinal coordinate z of the object (112) by combining the at least two sensor signals.

Abstract: A detector (110) for an optical detection of at least one object (112) is proposed. Further, the invention relates to a method for optical detection of at least one object (112) and to various uses of the detector (110). The detector (110) comprises: —at least one optical sensor (114), the optical sensor (114) having at least one sensor region (132), the sensor region (132) comprising at least one curved substrate (142) and at least one film (134) having a photoconductive material (136), wherein the film (134) is placed on at least one surface (140, 172) of the curved substrate (142), wherein the optical sensor (114) is designed to generate at least one sensor signal in a manner dependent on an illumination of the sensor region (132) by a light beam (124); —at least one transfer device (120), the transfer device (120) being adapted to transfer the light beam (124) from the object (112) to the optical sensor (114), thereby being adapted to guide the light beam (124) to the film (134) located on the curved substrate (142); and—at least one evaluation device (154), wherein the evaluation device (154) is designed to generate at least one item of information on a position of the object (112) by evaluating the sensor signal of the optical sensor (114). Thereby, a simple, cost-efficient and, still, reliable detector (110) for an accurate determining of a position of at least one object (112) in space is provided.

Abstract: Described herein is a method and a device for monitoring radiation emitted by a radiation emitting element of a thermal radiation source within the visible and the infrared spectral ranges, specifically for determining an emission spectrum of the thermal radiation source. The method includes the following steps: a) providing a thermal radiation source including a radiation emitting element; b) providing at least one radiation sensitive element; c) measuring a spectral radiance of the radiation emitted by the radiation emitting element at at least two individual wavelengths; and d) determining an emission temperature of the radiation emitting element by providing a ratio of the measured values of the spectral radiance of the radiation at the at least two individual wavelengths.

Abstract: A detector for determining a position of at least one object is disclosed and includes at least one sensor element having a matrix of optical sensors, the optical sensors each having a light-sensitive area. Each optical sensor is designed to generate at least one sensor signal in response to an illumination of its respective light-sensitive area by a light beam propagating from the object to the detector. The sensor element is adapted to determine at least one reflection image. The detector also includes at least one evaluation device adapted to select at least one reflection feature of the reflection image at least one first image position in the reflection image. The evaluation device is adapted to determine at least one reference feature in at least one reference image and at least one second image position in the reference image corresponding to the at least one reflection feature.

The evaluation device is adapted to determine at least one displacement region in at least one reference image corresponding to the distance estimate, and to match the selected reflection feature with at least one reference feature within the displacement region.
