    Abstract: A detecting system using a spectrum measurement device and detecting an object is provided. The system includes: a sampling module and spectrum measurement devices assembled to the sampling module. The sampling module provides an illumination beam to the object and collects measurement beams reflected by the object to the spectrum measurement devices. The illumination beam has an illumination light waveband. The measurement beams have the illumination light waveband. The spectrum measurement devices include first and second spectrum measurement devices. The first spectrum measurement device includes a digital micromirror device. The measurement beams include first and second measurement beams transmitted to the first and second spectrum measurement devices respectively. The first spectrum measurement device detects a portion of the illumination light waveband of the first measurement beam, and at the same time the second spectrum measurement device detects another portion of the illumination light waveband of the second measurement beam.

    Abstract: A method of determining the identity and concentration of a target analyte present in a biological sample includes: introducing a first target analyte into a hollow core of an optical fiber; introducing a first reference calibrant into the hollow core of the optical fiber; transmitting light from a laser light source through the hollow core of the optical fiber and the first target analyte to generate a first Raman anti-Stokes analyte emission corresponding to the first target analyte; receiving the first Raman anti-Stokes analyte emission at a spectral analysis system optically coupled to the optical fiber; and deriving Raman anti-Stokes spectral peaks or spectra of the first target analyte at the spectral analysis system based on the first Raman anti-Stokes analyte emission.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an inspection system and method for inspecting an optical surface of a laser scanner, the system including a directional optical source and an optical detector. The method includes moving one of the laser scanner or the inspection system to a position in which a beam axis of the directional optical source extends across but does not intersect the optical surface, between the optical surface of and the optical detector. The method further includes emitting a light beam from the directional optical source, across the optical surface so that light from the light beam is incident on debris disposed on the optical surface. The method further includes collecting the light at the optical detector to form an image that indicates presence of the debris on the optical surface of the laser scanner; and generating feedback to alert a user of the presence of the debris.

    Abstract: Described are various embodiments of a point-of-care testing (POCT) system, analyzer and method for measuring quantities of at least two analytes in a blood sample, for example bilirubin and hemoglobin. The system comprises an analyzer and a removable cartridge. The removable cartridge comprises an optical chamber configured for receiving the blood sample. The analyzer comprises a receptor for receiving the removable cartridge, a first and second set of incident electromagnetic radiation (EMR) for example two broadband LEDs, an EMR dispersive element for example a reflective grating, a photo diode array detector, and a processor. The two EMR sources are implemented in such a way so that the spectral wavelength range of EMR emerging from the blood is expanded, and the effect of stray EMR is mitigated. The expanded wavelength range and the mitigation of stray EMR allows the analyzer to measure quantities of the analytes in lysed or unlysed blood.
