Abstract: A bandage for the back or pelvis has adjacent pads mounted on an inner face of a supporting piece in a back area of the bandage, respectively one fastener strap piece for applying the bandage by joining together the ends of the two fastener strap pieces attaching at the opposite edge regions of the supporting piece, and two tensioning belts being assigned to the supporting piece, which are guided in such a manner that the pads approach each other when tensioning the tensioning belts and apply a pressure dependent on a tension force acting on the tensioning belts onto the relevant body part.

Abstract: A system for dynamically adjusting treatment angle under tension to accommodate variations in spinal morphology during spinal decompression therapy is provided. It provides a tensioning device including a patient-positioning means, a tension-producing actuator, a positioning device, a patient interface device, a control system and a display. The control system with feedback on the resultant tension vector applied to patient spine operationally configured to allow for adjustment of either tension producing actuator position, patient position, or both while applying tension to the patient spine during non-therapeutic tension levels. The control system automatically adjusts tension producing actuator work levels such that the resultant tension vector magnitude remains ideally constant during adjustment of resultant tension vector angle, reducing the risk of eliciting paraspinal muscle contraction due to changes in resultant tension vector magnitude.

Abstract: A device for promoting the extension of the sacrospinal muscles of a person resting on a horizontal surface includes stand having a horizontal cross bar fixed at opposing ends thereof with one each of a front pair legs and a rear pair of legs. Each front leg is pivotally fixed with the cross bar and configurable in both collapsed and extended configurations. At least one rigid post projects away from the cross bar, and at least one elastomeric band, when suspended from the at least one post, is capable of supporting the person around his sacrospinal muscles above the horizontal surface. The front and rear legs rest on the horizontal surface such that the cross bar is elevated above the horizontal surface sufficiently high enough to accommodate the person thereon in a supine position.

Abstract: Passive gravity balancing orthosis apparatus for assisting and training patients suffering from muscle weakness by relieving the patients afflicted member of its weight using a plurality of articulated supporting members. Relief is obtained by identifying and fixing the center of mass of the combined articulated equipment members and supported weight of the patient's member in space using a defined parallelogram mechanism and once so identified making the total potential energy for any configuration of the articulated members of the system constant. At least one zero free length spring is used to connect the center of mass to a support outside the articulated members. Additional springs connect the center of mass to the articulated members.

Abstract: A body interface comprises a panel, and a lumbar support and may be configured to attach to an exoskeleton such as a leg/hip assist mechanism. Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a natural gait therapy device having an adjustable gait timing linkage assembly configured to operate an adjustable knee support assembly and an adjustable height foot assembly to simulate a normal walking pattern for a user based on characteristics of the user. In an illustrative example, the adjustable gait timing linkage assembly includes a chain sprocket configured to adjust a degree of heel lift and a length to the point of the heel lift during a normal walking simulation. In some embodiments, a gait stride adjustment assembly may adjust a stride length to accommodate different sized users. The gait stride adjustment assembly may advantageously contribute to the natural walking pattern simulation.
