Abstract:
A process of producing a universal synthetic based gasoline fuel additive that cleans the fuel system including valves surface, lubricates the fuel pump, injectors and valves while allowing for a clean and more efficient burn. A major portion will consist of (a) Alfa-Olefins, (b) 2-propanol (c) Hydroisomerized High VI HT Base Oils, (d) Dimethyl Ketones, (e) Low Flash Mineral Spirits, (f) Low Aromatic Solvent, (g) Isomer Reformate, (h) Solvent Activated Dye. In a preferred embodiment, this universal synthetic gasoline conditioner additive for improving lubrication comprises: alpha-olefins comprising from 5 to 30 percent thereof, by weight; low odor aromatic solvents comprising from 3 to 27 percent thereof, by weight; 2-Propanol comprising of 3 to 30 percent thereof, by weight; and at least one a base oil comprising from 0.50 to 15 percent thereof, by weight; wherein: the percentages by weight are specified in relative proportion to one another.

A method for oil-based fuel dispersion in the form of micron and submicron Droplets with typical size distribution 0.5-20 microns where said Droplets are coated with a polymer-based shell containing metal nanoparticles that enable the droplets to absorb laser irradiation and utilize laser energy to initialize fuel burning. These encapsulated fuel Droplets are used primarily within engines to increase the power, efficiency, and stability of the engine.

A stable, substantially clear and homogeneous fuel composition contains an additive comprising a nitrogen donor and carrier, the nitrogen donor being present in an amount sufficient to reduce the NOx emissions of the fuel when subject to combustion and the carrier being selected to render the nitrogen donor soluble and to give the additive a molecular weight compatible with the energy properties of the fuel.

Provided herein is a diesel fuel additive composition comprising cerium oxide nanoparticles, optionally a manganese compound, a detergent, and a demulsifier. In one embodiment, the demulsifier has relatively low phosphorus concentration to thereby improve the solubility of the components and the thermal stability and clarity of the resulting diesel fuel. Also provided are methods for improving fuel economy, reducing smoke production, inhibiting deposition of sludge, and improved storage stability.

This invention relates to a method for improving the efficiency with which fuel is burnt in a fuel burning apparatus, particularly an internal combustion engine, comprising dispersing an amount of at least one particulate lanthanide oxide, particularly cerium oxide, in the fuel. This invention further relates to tablets, capsules, compositions and liquid fuel additives suitable for dispersing a lanthanide oxide in fuel.

Asphaltenes may be dispersed in caustic treated petroleum crude oil, or in any fraction thereof by adding an effective dispersing amount of a mono or di substituted alkylphenol-formaldehyde resin and or a monosubstituted alkylphenol-polyethylenepolyamine-formaldehyde resin, such resins having a weight average molecular weight of from about 1,000 to about 20,000, and an alkyl substituent containing from about 4 to about 24 carbon atoms, which alkyl substituent may be linear or branched.

The invention relates to aqueous emulsion copolymers of (meth)acrylates of long-chain alcohols in continuous aqueous phase, characterized in that they contain as storable disperse phase copolymers of the following monomer components:at least 50% by weight and preferably at least 60% by weight (meth)acrylates of C.sub.16-30 alcohols0 to 25% by weight and preferably 5 to 10% by weight (meth)acrylates of alcohols containing no more than 8 carbon atoms0.5 to 40% by weight and preferably 1 to 25% by weight olefinically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acids or anhydrides containing more than 10 carbon atoms.The invention also relates to the use of these aqueous emulsion copolymers for depressing the pour or flow points of hydrocarbon mixtures, particularly crude oil or petroleum fractions, the described copolymers forming the disperse phase of aqueous emulsion copolymers in a highly concentrated, but readily mobile formulation for incorporation in hydrocarbon mixtures of the described type.

The detergent composition of this invention, which is suitable for fuel-system parts, contains a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid containing 18 carbon atoms, a mixture of ammonia and amine an ester of a higher fatty acid, and water. It is also possible to add an antioxidant and a metal-deactivating agent. When mixing the above components, it is also possible to use a diluent and a solubilizing auxiliary solvent in order to impart suitable degrees of viscosity, fluidity and phase-solubility.Therefore, it is capable of removing foreign matter stuck on the fuel-system parts in a shorter period of time and gives less deleterious effects not only to fuel but also to various materials used to make up the fuel-system parts.

The invention refers to crystallization inhibitor compositions, which contain as the active component a copolymer of 4-vinyl pyridine and of acrylic acid esters, dispersed in an aqueous medium. They are suitable for use in paraffinic oils to prevent the deposition of solid paraffin on walls of containers and pipelines.While the known compositions which contain the same active component are not suitable for use under field conditions due to their high solidification temperature, the novel compositions can be used at temperatures as low as -15.degree. C. and the dispersions are quite stable on storage and have low viscosity.
