Abstract:
To reduce workload on an Internet facsimile machine on the transmission side, and to execute a retransmission processing promptly and reliably, an electronic mail server device includes a function for receiving an electronic mail, a function for transmitting the received electronic mail to the Internet facsimile machine of a destination via the Internet, and a function for carrying out a facsimile transmission of the image data via a public telephone network. The electronic mail server device also includes a RAM which stores an address/number corresponding table which corresponds the electronic mail address and the facsimile number of the Internet facsimile machine of the destination. When receiving the electronic mail including the image data, and failing to transmit the electronic mail including the image data to the Internet facsimile machine of the destination, a main control unit carries out a facsimile transmission of the image data of the electronic mail to the Internet facsimile machine of the destination via the public telephone network in accordance with the facsimile number corresponding to the electronic mail address of the Internet facsimile machine of the destination.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus is connected to a mail server, and receives an electric tail from a mail box. A header analyzing unit analyzes a header portion of the received electric mail so as to obtain a sender ID. Next, a transfer determination unit matches the obtained sender ID and a content of a sender ID column of a transfer management table. When a match is found, the transfer determination unit reads a content of a transfer destination ID column corresponding to the sender ID column in the transfer management table and a content of a transfer attribute column. An appended file portion is deleted from the electric mail in accordance with the content of the read transfer attribute column, “deletion process.” Thereafter, the electric mail from which the appended file portion is deleted is transferred to a transfer destination registered in the read transfer destination ID column.
Abstract:
An electronic-mail reception apparatus has a body and includes a facsimile receiver that negotiates with a sender before receiving image data, to receive image data in facsimile format from the sender via a telephone network. An electronic-mail receiver receives image data in an electronic mail format and character code data in the electronic mail format from a mail sender via a communication network. A converter converts the image data in the electronic mail format into image data in the facsimile format, a font section converts the character code data received by the electronic-mail receiver into image data, and an output section outputs the image data converted by the converter and the image data converted by the font section. The facsimile receiver, the electronic-mail receiver, the converter, the font section and the output section are integrated in the body of the apparatus.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an Internet FAX apparatus which, after receiving an Internet address from a certain destination, can communicate with the same destination in later transmission or during communication by connecting to a LAN and switching to an Internet FAX mode requiring no communication charge. An Internet facsimile apparatus on the receiving side transmits its Internet facsimile function and Internet address on an NSF signal in a standard protocol of G3 facsimile transmission and/or transmits its telephone number, Internet facsimile function, and Internet address on TSI and NSS signals in the standard protocol of G3 facsimile communication. The Internet facsimile apparatus registers an Internet facsimile function and Internet address of a partner apparatus as destination data. The Internet facsimile apparatus communicates with the partner apparatus by using the Internet address in the destination data in later transmission or by disconnecting ordinary facsimile mode communication and switching to the Internet FAX mode.
Abstract:
An internet facsimile communication system capable, in the internet facsimile based on the Recommendation T.38, of receiving an incoming call for a facsimile communication regardless of the setting of receiving mode in the facsimile apparatus thereby avoiding a drawback that a person responds to a facsimile communication. The internet facsimile communication system comprises an adaptor for connection with an IP network and a G3 facsimile apparatus, in which the adaptor changes the format of a call signal for calling the G3 facsimile apparatus, between an incoming call for a facsimile communication and other incoming call, thereby informing the G3 facsimile apparatus of an incoming call for the facsimile communication.
Abstract:
An image transmitting apparatus for transmitting image data to an external image receiving apparatus through a network, includes: an image reading unit which reads an image of a document and generates image data of the document; a transmitting unit which is connectable with a first network and a second network to transmit the image data of the document to the external image receiving apparatus, the first network being different from the second network; and a controller which controls the transmitting unit such that the image data of the document is transmitted to the external image receiving apparatus through one of the first and second networks, and such that the image data of the document is retransmitted to the external image receiving apparatus through the remaining one of the first and second networks.
Abstract:
An electronic-mail apparatus, comprises an electronic-mail receiver that receives an electronic-mail via a network, a converter that converts the electronic-mail into printable image data, and a facsimile receiver that negotiates with a facsimile sender. The facsimile receiver receives facsimile image data from the facsimile sender via a telephone network. A printer is configured to print the converted image data and the received facsimile image data. The electronic-mail receiver, the converter, the facsimile receiver and the printer are integrated in the electronic-mail apparatus.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a facsimile message via a communication network is described, wherein the facsimile message is at least partly transmitted to the called party using an agreed file transfer protocol. When a negotiating step was not successful, the facsimile message is transmitted using a normal facsimile protocol. Thus, the use of file transfer protocol is allowed as a means for transferring facsimile message data, such that a facsimile transmission via packet-switched networks like the Internet can be provided. With modem types other than those defined especially for facsimile use, the date transfer speed is remarkably higher, such that lower transmission costs can be achieved.
Abstract:
If a document transmitted from an Internet facsimile 205 causes a transmission error to occur, the Internet facsimile 205 prepares and outputs a communication management report to which the image of the untransmitted document (for example, top page thereof) is attached.
Abstract:
A facsimile device for transmitting an image data, using the computer communication network via the Internet without users doing the confusing operation. A transmitting-side facsimile device FAX1a determines that which network is used among between the Internet NTW and the public switched telephone network PSTN, by confirming whether or not the information showing to use the Internet NTW is attached to the facsimile number of the destination facsimile device FAX2 (S103). In case of determining to use the Internet NTW (YES by S103), image data that is a transmission copy to the gateway device GTW1 and the facsimile number of the destination facsimile device FAX2 are transmitted (S104). Moreover, the facsimile device is provided, which users can easily select a requested communication network. A transmitting-side facsimile device FAX1a discriminates the beginning number attached in the beginning of the destination number input by users (S204) and confirms that which network is used in sending image data among the internal network K, the public switched telephone network PSTN and the Internet NTW. In case that the use of the Internet NTW (S204 : null*null) is determined, the IP address of the nearest gateway device GTW in the destination facsimile device FAX2 is acquired (S206) and an image data that is a transmission copy and the destination number is transmitted by designating the IP address as a destination (S207).
