Abstract:
The present invention provides a carbon nanomaterial production apparatus 1 that includes a reaction tube 2 into which raw material gas and carrier gas are supplied and accordingly in which carbon nanomaterial is grown, a connection tube 4 that is connected to the reaction tube 2 and through which an aerosol-like mixture of the carbon nanomaterial and the carrier gas passes, and a collection tube 3 that is connected to the connection tube 4 and collects the carbon nanomaterial from the mixture. The collection tube 3 includes a discharge section 32 that is located above a junction 33 with the connection tube 4 and discharges the carrier gas contained in the mixture to outside, and a trapping section 31 that is located below the junction 33 with the connection tube 4 and traps the carbon nanomaterial that is separated from the mixture by gravitational sedimentation.

Embodiments of present inventions are directed to an advanced catalyst. The advanced catalyst includes a honeycomb structure with an at least one nano-particle on the honeycomb structure. The advanced catalyst used in diesel engines is a two-way catalyst. The advanced catalyst used in gas engines is a three-way catalyst. In both the two-way catalyst and the three-way catalyst, the at least one nano-particle includes nano-active material and nano-support. The nano-support is typically alumina. In the two-way catalyst, the nano-active material is platinum. In the three-way catalyst, the nano-active material is platinum, palladium, rhodium, or an alloy. The alloy is of platinum, palladium, and rhodium.

A sorbent, suitable for removing heavy metals, particularly mercury, from fluid streams containing a reductant such as hydrogen and/or carbon monoxide, is in the form of a shaped unit containing ≦0.1% by weight in total of heavy metal selected from mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium and antimony, and 4-75% by weight of copper in the form of one or more reduced copper sulphides which have a sulphur to copper atomic ratio of ≦0.6:1.
Abstract:
A system for storing hydrogen in composite materials comprising polymers in porous scaffolds. The solubility of hydrogen in polymers increases considerably when these polymers are confined to the pores of a porous scaffold, allowing enough hydrogen to be dissolved to make these composite materials practical for hydrogen storage.
Abstract:
