Abstract: A temperature-controlling measure for a hydrogenation slurry bed reactor has three control points that are set from low to high: cold hydrogen is injected automatically when the system reaches control point 1; cold oil in injected automatically when the system reaches control point 2; each pressure relief is opened automatically when the system reaches control point 3. The pressure relief point is set before and/or after the circulation pump of the reactor if internal circulation is set in the reactor; the pressure relief point is set at the reactor bottom if the internal circulation is not set; at least one pressure relief valve is set at each pressure relief point.

Abstract: A process for producing liquid hydrocarbon products from a biomass-containing feedstock and/or a biomass-derived feedstock is provided. The process comprises: a) contacting the feedstock with a hydropyrolysis catalyst composition and molecular hydrogen in a hydropyrolysis reactor vessel to produce a product stream comprising a deoxygenated hydrocarbon product, H2O, H2, CO2, CO, C1-C3 gases, char and catalyst fines; b) removing char and catalyst fines from said product stream; c) cooling the remaining product stream to a temperature of no more than 300° C.; and d) hydroconverting all or a portion of said deoxygenated hydrocarbon product in a hydroconversion reactor in the presence of one or more catalyst compositions suitable for the aromatic saturation of the deoxygenated hydrocarbon product and of the H2O, CO2, CO, H2, and C1-C3 gas generated in step a), to produce a product comprising C4+ hydrocarbon product, H2O, CO, CO2, and C1-C3 gases.

Abstract: A method for thermal processing and catalytic cracking of a biomass to effect distillate oil recovery can include, particle size reduction. slurrying the biomass with a carrier fluid to create a reaction mixture, slurrying a catalyst with a carrier fluid to create a catalyst slurry, heating the reaction mixture and/or the catalyst slurry, and depolymerizing the reaction mixture with the catalyst. The reaction mixture can undergo distillation and fractionation to produce distillate fractions that include naphtha, kerosene, and diesel. In some embodiments, thermal processing and catalytic cracking includes vaporization of the biomass followed by distillation and fractionation. In some embodiments, a resulting distillate can be used as a carrier fluid. In some embodiments, the method can include desulfurization, dehydration, and/or decontamination.

Abstract: A method or catalytic compressed air conversion of hydrocarbonaceous substances to oil has the steps of: providing a hydrocarbonaceous substance and a catalyst oil in a mixing turbine, mixing the catalyst oil with the hydrocarbonaceous substance to give a mixture, where the step of mixing comprises producing heat for a catalytic oxidation in the mixing turbine, providing the distillation device downstream of the mixing turbine, removing liquid constituents of the mixture into the distillation device, distilling the liquid constituents, and collecting oil and water, and is characterized in that the step of mixing comprises introducing oxygen into the mixing turbine. An apparatus with which this method can be employed has a mixing turbine comprising a first feed for a catalyst oil and a hydrocarbonaceous substance and an outlet for liquid constituents after a catalytic oxidation. In addition, such an apparatus comprises a distillation device for distilling the liquid constituents led out of the mixing turbine and a collecting device for collecting oil and water separated out from the distillation device, wherein the mixing turbine has a second feed for oxygen.
