    Abstract: A system and a method may be used for operating and/or calibrating a transmitter device. The system and method may include wirelessly transmitting a radio signal with identification data specific to the transmitter device and reference data. The transmitter device may transmit the radio signal with signal properties at least partially dependent on the reference data. A communication device may receive the radio signal and ascertain a distance between the transmitter device and the communication device using reception-side signal properties and the reference data ascertained from the received radio signal. A distance sensor may detect a distance between the transmitter device and the communication device. An evaluation unit may ascertain the reference data depending on the reception-side signal properties of the radio signal and the detected distance and to provide the ascertained reference data in the transmitter device for calibrating the transmitting device.

    Abstract: The systems and method disclosed herein include a LCom-enabled luminaire configured to transmit a maintenance trigger encoded in an LCom signal in response to detecting an error or maintenance condition in the LCom-enabled luminaire, receive an access request, transmit maintenance information in response to the access request, and receive correction information to correct the error or maintenance condition. The systems and methods further include a receiver device configured to receive the maintenance trigger, generate the access request based on the maintenance trigger, transmit the access request to the LCom-enabled luminaire, receive maintenance information in response to the access request, and transmit control commands based on the maintenance information.

    Abstract: A method for controlling at least one wireless network access point in a building may include detecting whether a wireless communication device is connected to at least one wireless network access point and/or whether a person is present using a group of presence detectors. An illumination system may include at least one wireless network point and/or the group of presence detectors. An activated network access point may remain activated when the wireless network access point is connected to a wireless communication device and/or when a person is present. A network access point may be automatically deactivated when the wireless network access point is not connected to a wireless communication device and/or when a person is not present. A deactivated network access point may be automatically reactivated when the wireless network access point is connected to a wireless communication device and/or when a person is present. Combinations thereof are also possible.

    Abstract: Phospher particles with a Protective Layer and a method for producing phosphor particles with a protective layer are disclosed. In an embodiment the method includes treating Si-containing and/or Al-containing phosphor with an acid solution, wherein a pH value of the acid solution is maintained within a range of pH 3.5 to pH 7 for a period of at least 1 h, wherein an Si-containing layer is formed on the phosphor particles, wherein the Si-containing layer has a higher content of Si on a surface than the phosphor particles, and/or wherein an Al-containing layer is formed on the phosphor particles, wherein the Al-containing layer has a modified content of aluminum on the surface than the phosphor particles and tempering the treated phosphor particles at a temperature of at least 100° C. thereby producing the protective layer.

    Abstract: An electronic half-bridge converter includes an input comprising two terminals for receiving a first power signal, and an output comprising two terminals for providing a second power signal.The converter includes a transformer and a half-bridge, wherein the half-bridge is interposed between input and primary winding of transformer.On the secondary side of transformer, the converter includes a rectifier circuit configured for converting the current provided via secondary winding into a rectified current, and a filter circuit configured for providing said second power signal by means of a filtering of the rectified current provided by rectifier circuit.The filter circuit includes: a first branch connected between both input terminals of the filter circuit and comprising a first inductor and a first capacitor connected in series, and a second branch connected in parallel with the first branch and comprising a second inductor and the output connected in series.
