Abstract: In certain embodiments, the present invention provides a modified transfer RNA (tRNA) comprising a T-arm, a D-arm, and anticodon-arm and an acceptor arm, wherein the T-arm comprises nucleotides that interact with the elongation factor 1 alpha protein, and methods of use thereof. In certain embodiments, the present invention provides a modified transfer RNA (tRNA) comprising a T-arm, a D-arm, and anticodon-arm and an acceptor arm, (a) wherein the anticodon-arm comprises a tri-nucleotide anticodon, wherein the anticodon is 5′-UCA-3′ and recognizes TGA stop codons, and wherein the acceptor arm is operably linked to a arginine, tryptophan or glycine; (b) wherein the anticodon-arm comprises a tri-nucleotide anticodon, wherein the anticodon is 5′-UUA-3′ and recognizes TAA stop codons, and wherein the acceptor arm is operably linked to a glutamine or, glutamate; or (c) wherein the anticodon-arm comprises a tri-nucleotide anticodon, wherein the anticodon is 5′-CUA-3′ and recognizes TAG stop codons, and wherein the acceptor arm is operably linked to a tryptophan, glutamate or glutamine.

Abstract: Durable, anti-fouling, crosslinked zwitterionic coatings that are grafted to the surface of a substrate through covalent bonding are disclosed. When exposed to a light source, zwitterionic monomers react with a crosslinker and with activated radicals at the surface of the substrate, simultaneously forming the crosslinked zwitterionic coating and anchoring it to the surface of the substrate. Photomasking techniques can be used to micropattern the zwitterionic coatings. The zwitterionic coatings can be applied to a variety of substrates, including medical devices and systems.

For example, in an embodiment, a method may comprise imaging, using a computed tomography system, at least one lung, to generate, at a computer system comprising a processor, memory accessible by the processor, and computer program instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor, at least one computed tomography image of the at least one lung, determining, at the computer system, at least one approximate fissure region of interest in the at least one lung image, determining, at the computer system, a more precise fissure location within the at least one region of interest, and generating an image of the lung including indication of the determined fissure location.
