Abstract: Spray gun reservoir components are disclosed. The spray gun reservoir component includes a liquid outlet and an outer face, and defines a centerline plane and an attachment plane. The liquid outlet surrounds a longitudinal axis. The outer face extends away from the liquid outlet. The centerline plane passes through the longitudinal axis. The attachment plane is defined orthogonally to the longitudinal axis and the centerline plane. The outer face further comprises a retention feature extending away from the centerline plane and generally parallel to the attachment plane. In some embodiments, the spray gun reservoir component further comprises a bearing surface formed on the outer face along the attachment plane to engage with a corresponding bearing surface on a liquid spray gun attachment point, with the bearing surface comprising the retention feature.

Abstract: A reservoir system for use with a spray gun. The system includes a cup receptacle and a lid. The lid includes a lid body and a collar. The lid body provides a spout and a platform surrounding the spout. At least a portion of the platform forms a partial helical shape revolving about a central axis of the spout. The collar is rotatably connected to the lid body. Further, the collar includes a lid connector structure configured to connect the lid to the cup receptacle. In some embodiments, the reservoir system further includes one or more of an adaptor, a plug and a shaker core.

Abstract: A spray gun reservoir connector system. The system includes a reservoir lid, a spray gun inlet, and complementary first and second connector formats. The first and second connector formats are provided with one of either the lid or the spray gun inlet. The first format includes a plurality of retention structures each defining a capture region. The retention structures are collectively arranged in a circular pattern. The second format includes a plurality of lock structures each including a shim body configured to selectively interface with the capture regions. The connector formats are configured to provide wedged engagement between the lock structures and corresponding ones of the retention structures upon rotation of the spray gun inlet relative to the lid. The lid may include a spout. The retention and lock structures are radially spaced outside of the spout, and the spout may have an inner diameter of not less than 22 mm.

In some embodiments, the article (e.g. liquid reservoir) comprise a thermoplastic polymeric material.

Abstract: Container assemblies (100) that transition between a sealing state and a retained venting state are described. The container assemblies each include a body portion (110) having an open end (113), and a lid portion (120) adapted to cover the open end of the body portion to create an enclosed volume, e.g. reservoir, and additionally comprise a venting feature (140). When the fluid pressure within the enclosed volume is less than a threshold pressure, the lid portion is in a sealing state such that the lid portion and the body portion cooperate to maintain a substantially fluid-tight seal against fluid leaving the enclosed volume. When the fluid pressure is greater than or equal to the threshold pressure, the lid portion is in a retained venting state such that the excess fluid pressure from the enclosed volume vents through the venting feature while retaining the lid portion on the body portion.
