Abstract: An application device according to an embodiment includes a liquid nozzle part, an air nozzle part, and an ejection controlling unit. The liquid nozzle part ejects liquid to be applied to an electronic component mounted on a substrate. The air nozzle part ejects air toward the substrate. The air nozzle is concentrically arranged with respect to the liquid nozzle part. The ejection controlling unit ejects the air from the air nozzle part at a timing in synchronization with an ejection timing of the liquid to be applied by the liquid nozzle part.

Abstract: Applicant discloses a novel method of spray applying multiple courses of a rapid cure, two part polymer sealant to an aircraft surface. The method sometimes uses a two part polymer mix for use in the aircraft industry that is applied with pneumatic mix and spray gun. The two part cartridge is used in the mix and spray gun so the mix is applied immediately upon mixing, but the two components are kept separated unless the gun is applying the mix. The multiple courses cure to form a clear sealant that allows for inspection of cracks and corrosion beneath the sealant. It cures quickly so that the coated part may be further processed, for example in the assembly line during aircraft build. Applicant further discloses multiple spray gun systems for applying such a two-part polymer mix to aircraft parts.

The permitted entrainment provides mixing between the entrained ambient air and the atomising air jet 101b.

Abstract: Embodiments for producing un-agglomerated, monodisperse droplets using a liquid sheet are provided. Nozzles with exit slit openings shape a spray liquid into a thin liquid sheet as the spray liquid exits from the slit opening. Stable multi-jet operation is achieved by including notches along the edge of the slit. The notches separate the liquid sheet into multiple jets to provide anchoring and stable multi jet operation. In some embodiments, the liquid sheet electrospray techniques and nozzles described herein provide high mass throughput and versatile multiplexing spray systems while reducing the engineering effort and high manufacturing cost

Abstract: Various embodiments concern a sprayer having a blower that outputs a HVLP flow of air into a hose, the hose connecting with a spray gun. A pressure sensor measures pressure of the HVLP air within the hose via a tube that branches from a fitting to which the hose connects. If the sensor indicates that the pressure level has increased above a threshold amount, indicating that the trigger of the spray gun is not being actuated, then power output to the blower is reduced (e.g., stopped). HVLP air is trapped within the hose by two valves when the trigger is not actuated. When the sensor indicates that the pressure level has decreased, corresponding to release of the trapped HVLP air into the gun for spraying by actuation of the trigger, power to the blower is increased (e.g., resumed).

Abstract: A vertical internal coating machine is taught, which may be used with bodies such as cans (2 piece, 3 piece, draw, redraw) and including cylinders, containers and any similar body. In the machine cans or similar bodies are sprayed with the star wheel in continuous motion without stopping and starting. The machine teaches that a plurality of spray guns may be provided for each pocket of the star wheel. By means of the machine an improved line layout is devised which may eliminate the need to raise the bodies immediately prior to a necker by allowing the vertical can internal coating machine and internal bake oven to be disposed on any level of the facility, upper, lower, mezzanine, etc. In green aspects, the machine may use negative pressure cabinets/hoods and positive pressure tunnels to entrain volatile organic chemicals emitted by the spray guns and coated bodies and may send these VOCs to a VOC destruction device, such as an oven.

Abstract: Spray heads for use with desuperheaters and desuperheaters including such spray heads. One example of a spray head includes a main body having an exterior surface and defining a central passage, the main body adapted for connection to a source of fluid, at least one entrance port formed in the main body along the central passage, and at least one spray nozzle arranged adjacent the exterior surface of the main body. The spray head also includes a plurality of flow passages, each of the plurality of flow passages providing fluid communication between the entrance port and an exit opening of the spray nozzle. A first one of the plurality of flow passages follows a first non-linear path and has a first distance, and a second one of the plurality of flow passages follows a second non-linear path and has a second distance different from the first distance.
