Abstract:
An adjustment assembly for adjusting the reflecting surface of a glass assembly in an external rearview vehicle mirror, where two linear adjusting motors act on two points of the glass assembly, where the adjusting motors are positioned between the glass assembly and a mirror carrier in the mirror head. The adjusting motors are connected to the glass assembly and/or the mirror carrier via at least one elastomeric connecting piece.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mirror having a backing plate or polymeric substrate being coated with a reflective coating, for example a chromium-based reflective coating. A mirror assembly includes a mirror housing, a reflective element having a first field of view, a reflective coating having a second field of view, the second field of view being wider than the first field of view, and a multi-function backing plate supported by the mirror housing and comprising a reflective element supporting region where the reflective element is supported by the multi-function backing plate and a reflective coating supporting region where the reflective coating is applied to the backing plate.
Abstract:
An electronic circuit board unit for an electronic module installed in a vehicle rear view device. The electronic circuit board unit has a base plate, at least one printed circuit board, and at least one plug connection for an electronic and physical connection between the printed circuit board and the base plate. The electronic circuit board has at least one first receiver for mounting an electronic consumer unit of the electronic module and being attachable or attached to the base plate or to one of the at least one printed circuit board. There is at least one second connector attachable or attached to the base plate or to the at least one printed circuit board for connecting at least one further electronic consumer unit of the electronic module to the driver circuit of the base plate. This configuration provides either n printed circuit boards and n+1 of electronic consumer units, with n being an integer number of 1 and above, or a plurality of printed circuit boards is provided, with each circuit board comprising at least one first receiver and at least one second connector.
Abstract:
An assembly set for assembling an external rearview system for a motor vehicle is provided. The external rearview system when assembled may include a base assembly provided for arrangement on the motor vehicle, and a head assembly attached to the base assembly. The assembly set may include (i) a first head assembly comprising, a first rearview device comprising at least one reflective element in form of a mirror glass, (ii) a second head assembly comprising, a second rearview device comprising at least one reflective element in form of an at least partly translucent mirror glass, and at least one first camera unit being configured to obtain a rearview image through the reflective element, and (iii) a third head assembly with at least one component of a camera monitor system. The head assembly may be configured to be detachable and is selected to be the first, second or third head assembly, with the first, second and third head assembly being exchangeable with each other.

Abstract:
A wiping device for an optical device with a lens includes a surface, such as a curved or calotte-shaped surface, where the wiping device has a wiping element for wiping the surface of the lens free from water and dirt particles with at least one passage channel and at least one outlet channel which branches off from the passage channel in order to guide cleaning fluid onto the surface of the lens. In addition, a rear view device for a motor vehicle with an optical device includes such a wiping device.
Abstract:
A rear view device for a motor vehicle includes a mirror base which is mountable on the vehicle and which supports a mirror head with a housing, the mirror head being movable relative to the mirror base using at least one power-fold unit, and includes at least one support or housing element for mounting at least a part of the power-fold unit in a mounting area. The at least one element may include at least one foamed polymer part at least partly within the mounting area. A motor vehicle may include such a rear view device.
Abstract:
An exterior rearview system for an autonomous vehicle includes a housing adapted for mounting to an exterior side of a vehicle, the housing holding at least one of a reflective element or display screen for displaying to a driver a rear or side image of the vehicle, one or more lighting modules disposed in the housing and providing an adaptive lighting sector which is adaptively controlled, and a control system configured to receive input data related to at least one of a user's intention using a tracking sensor and a user's retaking control of the autonomous vehicle.
Abstract:
An electronic device of a vehicle part of a motor vehicle includes at least one housing having at least one base surface of the vehicle part and a cover piece attached on the base surface, which in the attached state delimits an almost completely closed cavity, at least one first retaining means of a first surface of the vehicle part through which the housing is fixed in or on the vehicle part, and at least one electronic module including at least one conductor unit and at least one contact means connected with the conductor unit.
Abstract:
A method displays information graphically on an image captured by an optical system used to simulate a rear-view mirror system of a vehicle. The method includes capturing the image and identifying an object in the image. The method the assigns a priority level to the object based on a predetermined criterion. The object is altered based on its priority level to create an altered object. An altered object may have a changed color, a colored halo surrounding it, or a colored object inside it. Other possible ways to alter the way the object looks are possible. The altered object is displayed in the image in place of the object to alert a vehicle operator of its presence and the priority level associated therewith.
