Abstract:
The present disclosure describes systems and techniques relating to computer numerical control (CNC) additive manufacturing. According to an aspect, a tooltip for an additive manufacturing machine includes: an input end configured to receive light from an optical system; and an output end configured to deliver the light to a workpiece on a build platform in the additive manufacturing machine; wherein the output end of the tooltip is configured to be immersed in a liquid resin in a tank of the additive manufacturing machine, and the output end defines a linear opening through which the light is delivered to the workpiece on the build platform.
Abstract:
A sliding window is used in a projection-based stereolithographic process to more quickly deliver uncured resin after each curing pass. The sliding window may be configured in different patterns, and includes features for delivering resin and exposing resin to curing radiation. The window screen divides the stereolithographic building area divided into two portions, a light exposure portion for resin curing and a liquid resin refilling portion. The light exposure portion is used to selectively solidify liquid resin, while the liquid resin refilling portion is used to quickly refill liquid resin in order to build additional layers. During the layer fabrication process, a mask image is projected to the tank; however, the projection light only passes through the light exposure portion of the window screen.
Abstract:
An orthodontic appliance may include an archwire and multiple orthodontic brackets. The archwire may fit within a human mouth and contain multiple male connectors. Each orthodontic bracket may have a configuration that facilitates attaching the orthodontic bracket to a single tooth. Each orthodontic bracket may allow one of the male connectors to be locked into the orthodontic bracket with a snapping action. The male connector may be unable to slide with respect to the orthodontic bracket after being locked in the orthodontic bracket. A manual unlocking action may allow the male connector to disengage from the orthodontic bracket.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for a 3D microfluidic channel manufacturing device comprising: a main build platform and an auxiliary build platform, for printing microfluidic channels in a 3D printed product.
Abstract:
This disclosure generally relates to a ceramic scaffold. This disclosure particularly relates to a ceramic scaffold useful for bone regenerations. This disclosure also relates to a ceramic scaffold comprising hydroxyapatite (HA), tricalcium phosphate (TCP), or a mixture thereof. This disclosure also relates to a ceramic scaffold with high mechanical strength and flexibility. This disclosure further relates to a ceramic scaffold manufactured through a three-dimensional (3D) printing process, methods of manufacturing a ceramic scaffold and methods of replacing bone in a subject using the ceramic scaffold.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices including a light guide tool for multi-axis additive manufacturing. The light guide tool includes a tubular light guide. The tubular light guide may be made from an optically transmissive material enclosed by one or more reflective side walls that are interposed between opposing optically transmissive ends. The light guide tool includes an optical coupling fixed to a first end of the optically transmissive ends of the tubular light guide. The optical coupling is configured to couple to a lens. The light guide tool includes a transparent non-stick coating. The transparent non-stick coating is adhered over a second end of the optically transmissive ends of the tubular light guide. The light guide tool includes a lens. The lens is coupled to the optical coupling and configured to emit a two-dimensional light pattern.
Abstract:
A system for additively manufacturing a build part. The system includes a build platform configured for disposition within a resin tank, and a light source configured to cure a layer of resin. The layer of resin is disposed adjacent to a pre-cure build surface of the build part. The system also includes a constrained surface located between the build platform and the light source and configured to form a boundary for the layer of resin disposed between the constrained surface and the pre-cure build surface. The constrained surface is configured to vibrate to reduce a separation force required to separate the constrained surface from a post-cure build surface of the build part. The system also includes a vibratory source configured to vibrate the constrained surface.
