Abstract:
In operating a massaging machine having massaging members and a motor for causing the massaging members to vibrate to massage a patient, a pulsed driving signal is applied to the motor for repetitively switching on and off the motor for specified time lengths such that the motor is intermittently activated, rather than continuously.
Abstract:
A massage machine is provided which is adapted for effective massage by initiating a pair of therapeutic fingers into a lateral movement toward or away from each other approximately simultaneously with the start of an upward or downward movement of the fingers. The massage machine comprises the therapeutic fingers arranged on the backrest of a chair, bed or the like for supporting the back of the person to be massaged, lift means for moving the therapeutic fingers upward and downward longitudinally of the backrest, means for laterally moving the therapeutic fingers toward and away from each other, and control means for initiating the therapeutic fingers into a movement toward or away from each other by the laterally moving means approximately simultaneously with the start of an upward movement of the fingers by the lift means and for initiating the fingers into a movement toward or away from each other by the laterally moving means approximately simultaneously with the start of a downward movement of the fingers by the lift means.
Abstract:
A massaging device for insertion in the back of massage chairs or the like, comprising a frame which supports, so that they can rotate about their respective axes, an upper shaft and a lower shaft having parallel and substantially horizontal axes and eccentric portions. Two arms are provided, each arm supporting a massage wheel which can rotate about its own almost horizontal axis, and, proximate to one of its ends, the corresponding massage wheel and being connected, proximate to its opposite end, to an eccentric portion of the upper shaft and, at an intermediate region, to an eccentric portion of the lower shaft. Elements are also provided for rotating the shafts about their respective axes to produce an alternating movement of the massage wheels in a substantially horizontal direction and in a substantially vertical direction, the actuation elements comprising an upper gearmotor which actuates the upper shaft and a lower gearmotor which actuates the lower shaft.
Abstract:
A massage machine is disclosed for massaging a person's back, as required for back trouble, therapy relaxation or the like. This machine has a framework, a covering having a sheet supporting the person, control means near the sheet, a pair of massage rollers disposed under and bearing against the sheet, a trolley supporting the rollers for lengthwise travel of the rollers, a drive for moving the trolley back and forth; and an adjusting means for repositioning the rollers transverse to the lengthwise travel thereof.
Abstract:
An electromassager for massaging action which includes a mechanism means for obtaining simultaneously both horizontally massaging movement along various locus and vertical tapping movement.
Abstract:
An operating mechanism for a massaging apparatus comprising a driving shaft revolved through a pulley with movement of a belt driven by an electric motor, said driving shaft having a slightly curved front end which is secured through bearing to a pressing plate having formed on its surface a plurality of round projections, wherein rotation of said driving shaft is transmitted to said pressing plate through bearing not in the form of rotation but in the form of swinging motion which changes inclination of said pressing plate such that through variation of said inclination, the round projections on the surface of said pressing plate are rubbingly pressed alternately against a desired part of human body so as to produce excellent massotherapeutical effect.
Abstract:
A massage machine includes a seat unit on which a treatment subject person is configured to sit, a backrest unit configured to support a back of the person sitting on the seat unit, a base that is disposed in front of the backrest unit; and a treatment mechanism that is attached to the base configured to perform a massage on a shoulder of the person in a state where the person sits on the seat unit. The treatment mechanism includes a drive unit which includes an output shaft attached to the base and rotated by supplied power, and a treatment device configured to press the shoulder from above. In accordance with rotation of the output shaft, the treatment device oscillates in an upward/downward direction so as to perform the treatment on the shoulder.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a massage apparatus having a massage pressure sensing and adapting drive mechanism (50). The apparatus comprises a movable base frame (30) at the bottom, a massage mechanism (40) and a pressure sensing and adapting drive mechanism (50). The massage mechanism (40) and the pressure sensing and adapting drive mechanism (50) are provided on the movable base frame (30). The massage mechanism (40) comprises a left and a right clamp plate (1), a linking post (2), a malaxation part and a pummelling part. The left and right clamp plates (1) are fixedly provided on the movable base frame (30), and the malaxation part and the pummelling part are provided between the left and right clamp plates (1). The massage apparatus is mainly used for a massage chair or massage bed, can automatically sense the massage pressure and can automatically adjust the message pressure in real-time within a provided pressure range according to the different body types of users. The massage apparatus can automatically adapt to changes in the height and the curvature of the back of the human body in the course of massaging, performing manipulation, malaxation, pummelling, and finger pressure massage on a person of any body type, and can provide the desired massage pressure.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a massage apparatus for a massage chair wherein massage benefits or effects are provided to a back body area, a seat or bottom body area, and a thigh body area of a user. Massage benefits or effects may also be provided to a head and neck body area of the user. The massage apparatus includes a frame and a massage device. Also, the present invention is directed to a massage chair that includes a massage apparatus and at least one health monitoring device or system. As a non-limiting example, the at least one health monitoring device or system is a portable, wrist blood pressure and heart rate monitoring device that is manufactured and/or programmed to measure or obtain blood pressure and heart rate of the user right at or near the massage chair when the user is preferably positioned on the massage chair.
Abstract:
In combination, vertically percussive vibration and non-symmetrical forces are applied to a patient. The non-symmetrical forces may be generated by a variety of unevenly applied weights that are supported at appropriate body locations in a manner that upsets normal body load symmetry. The non-symmetrical forces in combination with vertically percussive vibrations induce neuromusculoskeletal proprioceptive re-education and development within a living body to correct musculo-skeletal disorders including but not limited to scoliosis. A special posture modifying chair and head-orienting glasses may be used instead of or in addition to unevenly applied weights. An additional force concentrating treatment apparatus is also presented.
