Abstract: The present disclosure includes an optical assembly position adjustment device. An embodiment of the optical assembly position adjustment device includes a base and at least one housing. The base includes an upper side and a lateral side. The upper side allows the setting of at least one optoelectronic device, and the lateral includes a first position adjustment structure. The at least one housing includes an interior side including a second position adjustment structure. The second position adjustment structure matches the first position adjustment structure for combination. In addition, the at least one housing includes an optical input/output window for optical transmission. The distance between the optical input/output window and the upper side can be adjusted by the increase or decrease of a contact area between the first and second position adjustment structures.

Abstract: A configurable optical device may include an optical transducer, a multi-lens arrangement, and a controllable optical modulator. The optical transducer is configured to convert light to electrical signals or to convert electrical signals to light. The multi-lens arrangement is positioned to redirect at least some of the light to or from the optical transducer. The controllable optical modulator is provided between the multi-lens arrangement and the optical transducer. The controllable optical modulator is coupled to receive and spatially modulate light to or from the optical transducer. The optical modulator is selectively controllable to steer and/or shape the light to a selected distribution of light from the multi-lens arrangement onto the optical transducer and/or from the optical transducer onto the multi-lens arrangement.

Abstract: A sensor module for a lighting fixture includes a module housing configured to be mounted to a lighting fixture, a light sensor mounted in the module housing, and a sensor cover over the light sensor. The sensor cover includes a first surface oriented to face a task surface within an area of interest, and a second surface opposite the first surface. The first surface includes a first Fresnel lens having a number of Fresnel ridges oriented in a first direction. The second surface includes a second Fresnel lens having a number of Fresnel ridges oriented in a second direction, which is different from the first direction. Providing the first Fresnel lens and the second Fresnel lens with differently oriented Fresnel ridges allows the sensor cover to focus light from a relatively large portion of the task surface to the light sensor while remaining small.

Abstract: An optical device and an optical lens module are provided. The optical device includes an optical lens module, a sensor and a housing. The optical lens module at least includes a first lens element and a second lens element. The first lens element is a spherical lens or an aspheric lens. The second lens element is a flat lens. The flat lens has at least one first microstructure. A light beam passing through the at least one first microstructure is shaped by the at least one first microstructure. After an ambient light beam outside the optical device passes through the optical lens module, the ambient light beam is sensed by the sensor. The optical lens module and the sensor are supported or fixed by the housing. The use of the flat lens can effectively reduce the total track length of the camera module.

Abstract: An infrared detector system is provided for detecting infrared radiation from an infrared radiation source or a scene. The system includes a first area that is semiconductor-based and biased to produce negative luminescence, the first area including at least one semiconductor-based detector. The detector system further includes at least one additional area being semiconductor-based and biased to produce negative luminescence. A low-emissivity specular retro-reflector shield is configured to reflect infrared radiation and covers the first area and the at least one additional area. The shield defines an aperture to allow the at least one semiconductor-based detector to receive incident rays of the infrared radiation from the infrared radiation source or the scene via a low-scatter, low-emission optical system such that the radiation incident from the infrared radiation source or scene substantially fills the solid angle defined by the aperture at any point in the first area.

Abstract: An electronic device may have light-based components. The light-based components may include light sources, light detectors, and image sensors. The light-based components may be aligned with a window in the device. The window may be formed within an inactive area of a display or within other device structures. The window may have one or more window members mounted within an opening in a display layer in the inactive area. Visible light blocking material such as chalcogenide glass may be incorporated into the window to provide the window with an opaque appearance that matches the opaque appearance of surrounding portions of the inactive portion of the display. In configurations in which the light-based components include a visible image sensor or other visible light detecting component, the window may be provided with a portion that is transparent at visible wavelengths.

Abstract: A beam generating device includes a semiconductor substrate, having an optical passband. A first array of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) is formed on a first face of the semiconductor substrate and are configured to emit respective laser beams through the substrate at a wavelength within the passband. A second array of microlenses is formed on a second face of the semiconductor substrate, with the microlenses in respective alignment with the VCSELs so as to transmit the laser beams generated by the VCSELs.
