Abstract:
An apparatus for controlling appliances connectable to a singular or a plurality of target appliances, which apparatus can be approached from a terminal device. The apparatus comprises interface means for exchanging signals with the appliances, memory means having program components folder which stores independent program components by each of the functions, and application generation means which selects necessary program component among those stored in the program components folder to generate a certain specific application that conforms to the function of target appliance. Thereby, even when a new target appliance is added to, an existing appliance is changed or the controllable function of existing appliance is modified, the resultant burden levied on the users and system operators is reduced. And in the present apparatus, the memory media resources are utilized efficiently with least wasting.
Abstract:
An electric device includes a read only memory (ROM) storing a condition setting program which sets operation conditions and the like of the electric device in accordance with data. When a user changes the operation conditions and the like of the electric device, the user access a homepage of the electric device from his or her own cellular phone, inputs necessary information and command through the cellular phone. When the electric device receives the command, the condition setting program sets the operation conditions in accordance with the received command.
Abstract:
Disclosed are three major aspects relating to wireless transmission of encrypted data messages in a security system wherein the receiver stores locally an encryption key utilized by the transmitting device to encrypt the data message and the receiver uses the encryption key to decrypt an encrypted data message, and wherein a sequence number generator is used to synchronously track the message sequence at both the transmitter and receiver. A first major aspect involves encrypted device registration (learning) methods that are user-friendly and immune from detection by technically skilled intruders with special RF equipment, and periodic user-friendly changing of the encryption key per encrypted transmitting device in the system. A second major aspect involves encrypted device de-registration (unlearning, or deletion) that is likewise user friendly. A third major aspect of the invention allows the receiver to process encrypted and non-encrypted messages, interchangeably, within the same wireless security system.
Abstract:
A remote door locking/unlocking system includes both telephone receiver/DTMF decoder circuitry and a wireless radio frequency or infrared sensor for enabling the system to be actuated either by a portable short range transmitter or by any telephone. The telephone circuitry or handset may be removably installed in the door so that it can be used with a variety of different cellular or satellite communications systems. An alternative to DTMF and/or radio frequency or infrared activation, speech recognition could be used to interpret voice commands transmitted over the network or picked up by a microphone.
Abstract:
A remote controller for use with a piece of electronic equipment is locked by depressing a predetermined key mounted thereon for a predetermined amount of time. The remote controller includes a plurality of keys. If a user has depressed the predetermined key of the remote controller and does not depress another key within the predetermined amount of time, the remote controller and the electronic equipment will execute an entering/releasing locking mode operation. Alternatively, however, in cases where the user depresses another key within the predetermined amount of time after depression of the predetermined key, the remote controller operates in a normal operation mode.

Abstract:
A user terminal apparatus is provided. The user terminal apparatus for performing a remote control function for an electronic apparatus includes a communication unit configured to communicate with an electronic apparatus for providing a text input user interface (UI), an input unit configured to receive a user command for input of a specific text on the text input UI, a fingerprint scanner provided in the input unit and configured to recognize a user fingerprint, and a controller configured to recognize a user fingerprint according to the user command and to transmit information corresponding to the recognized user fingerprint to the electronic apparatus in response to the electronic apparatus entering a preset text input mode.
Abstract:
Systems, apparatus, methods and non-transitory computer readable media facilitating telemetry data communication security between an implantable device and an external clinician device are provided. An implantable device can include a security component configured to generate security information based on reception of a clinician telemetry session request from the clinician device via a first telemetry communication protocol. The security information can include a session identifier and a first session key, and the clinician telemetry session request can include a clinician device identifier associated with the clinician device. The implantable device can further include a communication component configured to establish a clinician telemetry session with the clinician device using a second telemetry communication protocol based on determining that a connection request, received via the second telemetry communication protocol, was transmitted by the clinician device based on inclusion of the clinician device in the connection request.
Abstract:
A remote control for a smart TV or a set-top box is disclosed. The remote control includes a capacitive fingerprint sensor, a processor and a wireless transmitter. The present invention takes advantages of the capacitive fingerprint sensor so that every user's personal data and corresponding setting for the smart TV or set-top box are available. Channel (or web-site) content rating can be achieved. Purchasing over TV can be safer than ever.
Abstract:
A system in which a portable electronic device communicates with an external device to determine a location. Upon determining its location, the portable electronic device transmits this information as well as identifying information to a control processor. The control processor controls one or more controllable devices according to the location and identifying information. The portable electronic device may determine the location via NFC tag or via one or more RF beacons transmitting information according to the Bluetooth 4.0 protocol.
