    Abstract: A radiation therapy system may include a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device configured to acquire MRI data with respect to a region of interest (ROI). The MRI device may include a main magnet that is around a longitudinal axis and configured to generate a magnetic field. The MRI device may also include a radiation therapy device configured to perform a treatment on at least one portion of the ROI by delivering, based on the MRI data, therapeutic radiation to the at least one portion of the ROI. The radiation therapy device may be rotatable around the longitudinal axis. The MRI device may also include a first shielding structure configured to provide interference shielding for the MRI device or the radiation therapy device. The radiation therapy device may be rotatable relative to the first shielding structure around the longitudinal axis.

    Abstract: A bearing structure for an X-ray tube is provided that includes a journal bearing shaft with a radially protruding thrust bearing encased within a bearing sleeve, one of which rotates relative to the other. The stationary component, e.g., the journal bearing and/or the thrust bearing includes at least one vent groove formed therein that improves the ability of the journal bearing structure to enable gases trapped by the liquid metal within the bearing assembly to escape through the vent groove to the exterior of the X-ray tube. By adding a strategically located channel or vent groove of sufficient size in at least one of the journal bearing or the thrust bearing, the pressures resisted by the seal created between the liquid metal and the vent groove(s) in the bearing components is significantly reduced, allowing escape of the gases to avoid detrimental effects to the operation of the X-ray tube, while maintaining the load carrying capacity of the bearing assembly.

    Abstract: A flat emitter configured for use in an X-ray tube is presented. The X-ray tube includes a first conductive section including a first terminal. Further, the X-ray tube includes a second conductive section including a second terminal. Also, the X-ray tube includes a third conductive section disposed between the first conductive section and the second conductive section, wherein the third conductive section is configured to emit electrons toward a determined focal spot, and wherein the third conductive section includes a plurality of slits subdividing the third conductive section into a winding track coupled to the first conductive section and the second conductive section, wherein at least two of the plurality of slits are interwound spirally to compose the winding track, and wherein the winding track is configured to expand and contract based on heat provided to the third conductive section.
