Abstract: In accordance to embodiments, methods, devices, and systems for determining initial transmissions in grant-free transmissions are disclosed. A UE receives a resource configuration for grant-free (GF) transmissions. The resource configuration comprises a periodicity parameter (P), a repetition number (K), and a sequence of redundancy version (RV) numbers corresponding to one or more RV types. The periodicity parameter defines a period having K transmission occasions (TOs), and each of the K TOs is associated with one RV number in the sequence of RV numbers. The UE performs an initial GF transmission of data in a TO of the K TOs in the period defined by the periodicity parameter. The TO is associated with an RV number corresponding to RV0.

Abstract: As many applications, such as wireless headsets used with cellular phones, require mostly error free data to accurately reproduce a telephone conversation, uncorrected erroneous data packets may impact a perceived quality of a given application. The error correction techniques of the present disclosure promote error-correction in communication systems that lack FEC with respect to one or more portions of a data packet. The techniques therefore provide error correction for the entire packet, including those portions not protected by any imbedded error correction mechanism. As a result, data communications over noisy communication mediums may be improved as the techniques may reduce bit error rates, and increase the sensitivity of the receiving device such that the transmission power of a data packet may be reduced. For voice packets or other streaming data packets, the techniques promote improved audio quality over systems that do not employ the techniques described in the present disclosure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. An access point (AP) may broadcast or multicast a wakeup transmission to wakeup radios (WURs) of a group of wireless and determine to retransmit the first wakeup transmission (e.g., for redundancy). The AP may transmit a second wakeup transmission to the WURs, the second wakeup transmission including an indication that the second wakeup transmission is a retransmission of the first wakeup transmission. The wireless devices may receive the indication that the second wakeup transmission is a retransmission, and may power up a main radio to receive a beacon based on whether or not the previous or originally wakeup transmission was received (e.g., determined via the indication included in the received wakeup message). In some cases, the AP may identify that some wireless devices failed to receive the first wakeup transmission, and may transmit a second wakeup transmission to those identified stations.

In order to efficiently support dynamic bundle scheduling, when a grant is received during a bundle transmission, this grant becomes a shifting grant, according to which the bundle is transmitted and according to the location of which the timing of the grant reception and the data transmission is adapted. The transmission of the shifted bundle is performed in accordance with the state of its retransmission process, i.e. the bundle is either initially transmitted or retransmitted.

Abstract: A data generation device 101 transmits communication data bound for a data receiving device 105 from a transmission unit, and a monitoring device 103 receives the communication data. The monitoring device 103 requests retransmission of the communication data to the data generation device 101, and the data generation device 101 retransmits the communication data from a retransmission unit being different from the transmission unit. The monitoring device 103 receives retransmission data retransmitted from the retransmission unit, compares the communication data with the retransmission data. If the communication data and the retransmission data are identical, the monitoring device 103 transmits the communication data to the data receiving device 105. If the communication data and the retransmission data are not identical, the monitoring device 103 transmits a message which notifies that the communication data and the retransmission data are not identical to the data generation device 101.

Abstract: Enhanced random access procedures for link-budget-limited user equipment (UE) devices are disclosed. A user equipment device may transmit a first message containing a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH). The PRACH contains instances of a Zadoff-Chu sequence, and may be transmitted repeatedly as part of a single random attempt, to facilitate correlation data combining at the base station. The available Zadoff-Chu sequences may be partitioned among a plurality of sets, each set being associated with a respective Doppler shift range (or frequency hop pattern or time repetition pattern). A UE device may signal Doppler shift (or other information) to the base station by selection of one of the sets. The first PRACH transmission and the following PRACH transmission may occur in consecutive subframes. A UE device may select from a special set of Zadoff-Chu sequences (different from a conventional set of sequences), to signal its status as a link-budget-limited device.
