Abstract:
An information processing device includes a retaining unit and an image display. The retaining unit retains image-formation-related information of an image forming apparatus that forms an image. The image display causes a display section of a portable terminal having the display section and an image capturing section to display an image for assisting with an operation of the image forming apparatus based on a captured image result of the image capturing section and the image-formation-related information retained in the retaining unit.
Abstract:
A method of measuring a display delay includes a first step where a first display device performs a switching operation of switching a display pattern displayed on a display unit of the first display device, a second step where a first camera captures a first image and displays the first image in a live view mode, a third step where a second camera captures a second image containing the first image and records at least the first image contained in the captured second image while being correlated with information indicative of an imaging time when the second image is captured, and a fourth step where a display delay time of the first camera from the imaging of the first image to the display of the first image is deduced from the time indicated by the display pattern contained in the first image and the information indicative of the imaging time.
Abstract:
What is disclosed is an apparatus and method for calibrating an optical module of a document scanning device. In one embodiment, imaging sensors of an optical module of the scanning device are used to obtain an image scan of a calibration strip mounted on a surface of a platen on which a sheet to be scanned has been manually placed. The calibration strip has a first vertical line at a first distance from a right edge of the strip, a second vertical line at a second distance from a left edge of the strip, and a sloping horizontal line positioned between the first and second vertical lines. A slope of the horizontal line is non-zero. In a manner more fully disclosed herein, the image scan of the calibration strip is to obtain calibration measurements. The calibration measurements are, in turn, used to calibrate the scan head of the optical module.

Abstract:
A method of measuring a shutter time lag of a camera includes: a first step of switching a display pattern of a display unit including i (i is a natural number greater than 2) display elements to a different display pattern at every time TP, and in the first step, the number of j (j is a natural number, and 1
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a control section extracting a color composition of each color ranging from a first to an nth color from input image data, on the color composition of an mth color, the m being 1 to n−1, performing a first and a second gamma corrections correcting a gradation of the color composition respectively based on a gamma curve for the mth color to obtain a first corrected gradation value, and based on a gamma curve for an (m+1)th color to obtain a second corrected gradation value, and interpolating the first and the second corrected gradation values to determine an output value for the color composition, on the color composition of the nth color, correcting a gradation of the color composition based on a gamma curve for the nth color to obtain an output value for the color composition.
Abstract:
Methods and devices are described for detecting boundaries of documents on flatbed and multi-function scanners on a first pass of a carriage assembly, and then performing a high resolution scan on a second pass. High resolution images of documents can then be obtained with little or no interaction normally necessary to identify areas of interest on the scanner bed. Patterns on the scanner cover or lid facilitate not only edge determination, but orientation of text and other objects, and straightening of images in preparation for OCR and related functions. Electronic images and files derived from paper documents may be automatically cropped, deskewed, subjected to OCR, and named consistent with content or other information derived from them.

Abstract:
Systems and methods systems and methods for calibrating field uniformity are disclosed. An exemplary method includes scanning the imaging area including a first media to obtain optical data for a specular reflectance map. The method also includes scanning the imaging area including a second media to obtain optical data for a diffuse reflective map. The method also includes storing the specular reflectance map and the diffuse reflective map for adjusting actual pixel values during an imaging operation.
