The display device includes at least one connection interface through which an external memory device is attached to the display device, a judging unit to judge as to whether an external memory device is attached to one of the at least one connection interface, a list creation unit to create a list of data files which are stored in the external memory device according to the judgment made by the judging unit, a timer to measure a predetermined period, and a display control unit to display the list created by the list creation unit based on the data files stored in the external memory device which is attached to the display device before the predetermined period elapses.
Abstract:
A communication system includes a first and a second communication devices, and the first and the second communication devices includes a first and a second transmission units that are disposed respectively on bodies of the communication devices and wirelessly transmits predetermined information to each other. The first communication device further includes a first reception unit that is disposed in a position where the first reception unit is capable of communicating with the second transmission unit and receives second information that has been transmitted from the second transmission unit, and a first control unit that controls the first communication device such that, when communication becomes possible between the first reception unit and the second transmission unit, the first reception unit receives the second information, and such that, when communication becomes possible between the first transmission unit and the second reception unit, the first transmission unit transmits first information.
Abstract:
This disclosure details the implementation of apparatuses, methods, and systems for a portable, automated contractual image dealer and transmitter. The transmitter provides a platform capable of managing, manipulating, storing, and transmitting digital media files across a wide array of transmission means and protocols. In addition, the capability to provide media for sale or distribution from remote locations, including the ability to choose from a number of possible buyers based on selected criteria and to remotely establish binding purchasing and/or image transferal relationships, is potentially beneficial for an array of media applications. In one embodiment, the transmitter may be employed by photographers, photojournalists, and/or the like to rapidly process, edit, and send photographs or video to multiple news agencies, newspapers, magazines, television studios, websites, and/or the like while maintaining control over their photographs by allowing them to send reduced quality and watermarked proofs. The transmitter may be configured to allow users to first generate and transmit low-resolution preview images, thereby saving on transmission time and resources, and only send full resolution versions once approvals of the preview versions are received

This disclosure details the implementation of apparatuses, methods, and systems for a portable, image-processing transmitter. The transmitter provides a platform capable of managing, manipulating, storing, and transmitting digital media files across a wide array of transmission means and protocols. The transmitter may be configured to allow users to first generate and transmit low-resolution preview images, thereby saving on transmission time and resources, and only send full resolution versions once approvals of the preview versions are received. The transmitter's broad communication capabilities ensure that it is maximally effective in locating and exploiting available communication networks, even from remote locations.
Abstract:
A multi-function peripheral device includes: a plurality of interfaces that communicate data with an external devices; a power source for supplying the interfaces with power required for the respective interfaces to operate; a monitoring unit that monitors operational statuses of the respective interfaces; a display unit that displays a parameter indicating the operational status of each of the interfaces monitored by the monitoring unit; an input unit that is capable of inputting a command indicating whether or not power is to be supplied from the power source to each of the interfaces; and a power control unit that controls to supply power to an interface for which a command indicating that power is to be supplied is inputted by the input unit, and controls to shut off power to an interface for which a command indicating that power is not to be supplied is inputted by the input unit.
Abstract:
Determination is made whether acceptance of a job on a USB memory is permitted or not. When in a USB memory job acceptance permitted state, a USB memory job selection display process is executed. When in a USB memory job acceptance prohibited state, a USB memory plural load prohibition display process is executed. When in a USB memory job acceptance prohibited state, the relevant display screen is continuously provided. Therefore, the user is provided with the relevant display screen to be prompted confirmation of the loading of a USB memory
Abstract:
A digital image storage system includes a digital camera having a memory storing digital images, a docking station on which the digital camera can be placed for transmitting one or more of the digital images from the memory of the digital camera, and a data storage separate from the docking station and having a storage medium that stores digital images transmitted from the memory of the digital camera through the docking station. A controller communicates with the data storage and the digital camera while the digital camera is placed on the docking station, and causes digital images stored in the memory of the digital camera to be deleted from the memory after being successfully transmitted from the memory and stored in the storage medium of the data storage. The controller does not delete from the memory digital images protected against deletion.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a portable electronic storage device able to receive, store, and transmit or otherwise convey digital data and images from one electronic device to another. The storage device may generally include a housing containing one or more electronic components, and a plurality of connectors extending from the housing, the connectors being engageable with secondary electronic devices for the transfer of data and/or images. The electronic storage device may further include a software program operable via the secondary electronic devices for the manipulation of data and/or images.
Abstract:
A digital image storage includes a connector for communicating with a digital camera and a detector that detects a signal to cause the transmission of a digital data from a memory of the digital camera to the digital image storage. The digital image storage further includes a function unit responsive to the signal from the detector to carry out the transmission of the digital data of images with the other digital data not transmitted and a storage medium that stores the transmitted data of the images.
Abstract:
An image forming device includes a plurality of communication interfaces, a performing unit, and a restring unit. Each of the plurality of communication interfaces receives a command from an external device and has a type different from each other. The performing unit is capable of performing one of a plurality of functions in response to the command. The restricting unit restricts the performing unit to perform the function corresponding to the command, based on the type of the communication interface into which the command is inputted.
