Abstract: A system for administering patient-specific chest compressions includes an automated chest compressor configured to be applied to the chest of the patient to administer chest compressions to the patient; at least one force sensor configured to sense force information for force exerted on the patient by the chest compressor from the applied chest compressions; and at least one processor and memory communicatively coupled with the chest compressor and the at least one force sensor. The at least one processor and memory are configured to control the chest compressor to administer the chest compressions over an initial compression period according to an initial compression protocol. The initial compression protocol includes a plurality of chest compressions of increasing scheduled depths with a first compression at an initial depth and a final compression at a final target depth greater in magnitude than the initial depth.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that leverage neural networks for high resolution image segmentation. A computing system can include a processor, a machine-learned image segmentation model comprising a semantic segmentation neural network and an edge refinement neural network, and at least one tangible, non-transitory computer readable medium that stores instructions that cause the processor to perform operations. The operations can include obtaining an image, inputting the image into the semantic segmentation neural network, receiving, as an output of the semantic segmentation neural network, a semantic segmentation mask, inputting at least a portion of the image and at least a portion of the semantic segmentation mask into the edge refinement neural network, and receiving, as an output of the edge refinement neural network, the refined semantic segmentation mask.

Abstract: A robot system for active and passive upper limb rehabilitation training based on a force feedback technology includes a robot body and an active and passive training host computer system. Active and passive rehabilitation training may be performed at degrees of freedom such as adduction/abduction and flexion/extension of left and right shoulder joints, and flexion/extension of left and right elbow joints according to a condition of a patient. In a passive rehabilitation training mode, the robot body drives the upper limb of the patient to move according to a track specified by the host computer, to gradually restore a basic motion function of the upper limb. In an active rehabilitation training mode, the patient holds the tail ends of the robot body with both hands to interact with a rehabilitation training scene, and can feel real and accurate force feedback.

Abstract: A multimodal wearable band uses mechanical vibrations to stimulate sensory neurons in the wrist or ankle to reduce the severity of tremors, rigidity, involuntary muscle contractions, and bradykinesia caused by neurological movement disorders and to free users from freezing induced by movement disorders. The device uses sensors to provide output used by a processing unit to determine a stimulation pattern for the user and to determine when stimulation is necessary, and then uses one or more transducers to correspondingly stimulate the user’s neurological pathways to lessen the severity of the user’s symptoms. The device can also be adapted to integrate with third party devices.

Abstract: A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the heart of an individual to a first height relative to a lower body of the individual. The lower body may be in a substantially horizontal plane. The method may also include elevating the head of the individual to a second height relative to the lower body of the individual. The second height may be greater than the first height. The method may further include performing one or more of a type of CPR or a type of intrathoracic pressure regulation while elevating the heart and the head. The first height and the second height may be determined based on one or both of the type of CPR or the type of intrathoracic pressure regulation.
