Abstract:
FOREIGN PRODUCTS INCLUDING THE NEUTRAL ORGANOPHOSPHOROUS COMPOUNDS AND THE IRON SALTS NORMALLY PRESENT IN COMMERICAL BIS(2-ETHYL-HEXYL)PHOSPHORIC ACID (HDEHP), AND THE RADIOLYTIC DEGRADATION PRODUCTS OF HDEHP ON EXPOSURE HDEHP TO BETA AND GAMMA IRADIATION ARE REMOVED FRO HDEHP CONTAINING ONE OR MOR OF SUCH PRODUCTS BY CONTACTING THE SAID FOREIGN PRODUCT SCONTAINING HDEHP WITH A MACRORETICULAR ANION EXCHANGE RESIN IN BASE FORM WHEREBY THE DEHP- ION OF HDEHP EXCHANGES WITH THE ANION OF THE RESIN AND IS THUS ADSORBED ON THE RESIN AND THE SAID FOREIGN PRODUCTS ARE NOT ADSORBED AND WILL PASS THROUGH A BED OF PARTICLES OF THE RESIN. THE ADSORBED DEHP- ION IS THEN ELUTED FROM THE RESIN AND ACIDIFIED TO FORM AND RECOVER THE PURIFIED HDEHP.
Abstract:
A PROCESS FOR ADSORBING OR REMOVING COMPOUNDS, ESPECIALLY POLAR COMPOUNDS FROM NON-POLAR COMPOUNDS IS DISCLOSED. AN EXAMPLE IS THE ADSORPTION OF ALPHATIC ALCOHOLS OR PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS FROM ORGANIC SOLVENTS. THE ADSORPTION PROCESS UTILIZES CROSS-LINKED ADSORBENT RESINS CONTAINING TERTIARY AMINE OXIDE FUNCTIONALITY.
Abstract:
SELECTIVE REMOVAL OF MOLYBDATE IONS FROM WATER BY CONTACTING THE WATER WITH AN ACIDIFIED, BASIC ANION EXCHANGE RESIN, THE PH OF THE INFLUENT BEING ADJUSTED WITHIN THE RANGE FROM 3.0 TO 4.5 SO AS TO OPERATE AT MAXIMUM CAPACITY FOR THE RESIN.
Abstract:
In a platinum group metal supported catalyst column, a platinum group metal supported catalyst is a catalyst in which at least one of platinum group metal nanoparticles, platinum group metal ions, and platinum group metal complex ions is supported on an ion exchanger, wherein the exchanger is composed of a continuous skeleton phase and a continuous pore phase, the thickness of the continuous skeleton is 1-100 μm, the average diameter of the continuous pore is 1-1000 μm, the total pore volume is 0.5-50 mL/g, the ion exchange capacity per weight in a dry state is 1-9 mg equivalent/g, and the ion exchanger is non-particulate organic porous ion exchanger in which the ion exchange groups are distributed in the ion exchanger, the amount of platinum group metal nanoparticles, etc., supported is 0.004-20 wt % in a dry state, and a platinum group metal scavenger is provided at the backward stage catalyst.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a method for separating different oligosaccharides having at least one carboxylic acid group by contacting them with basic anion exchange resins.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods of regenerating ion exchange resins in systems using anhydrous organic solvents, such as systems for alkaliating or lithiating materials, such as anodes, in gamma-butyrolactone.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an aqueous composition comprising, (a) an ion-exchange resin (IXR) comprising microporous beads having a particle size ranging from about 200 um to about 1000 um; (b) a water soluble surfactant having a molecular weight ranging from about 7,500 to about 15,000 Da; and (c) a buffer component; wherein the pH of the aqueous composition ranges from about 5 to about 8, and a process for isolating chemical contaminants using the aqueous composition.
